I just lurve Illustrator. My all time favourite app.
After pencil and paper, its what I do all my base designs and layouts in for work (web design).
Its fast, clean, scalable and easy to edit.
Now if I can get a wacom tablet for it ill be flying.

Photoshop n' Flash! I'd like a copy of Illustrator. I've never used it but looking at Computer Arts it looks fab!

never liked max but done a bit of moddleing in lightwave and thought it was good. but texturing is incredibly awkward just like my spelling

PaintShop Pro 7 i think is class and its probally one of the easiest programs to use. Just got photoshop6 and just getting used to it. Interface isn't as nice as PaintShop Pro7 tho i don't think, but it does have lots of extra nice touches, but i don't think PaintSP7 is far behind it.

3dmax is great for 3d but the menus can be a little over whelming there just soooooooooooo many of them and takes a good bit to get the hang of. Got bryce2 tis very easy to use but a bit limited does landscapes great but anything else is diffcult.

Oh just got this program well the installer for it anyhew, Vue4WebDemo, anyone use it? Ya gotta install it from the net. (25odd mb on a crappy 56k, so waiting till w/e) Which sux. Seen an ad for it in a mag and looked nice.

    Gid.

I always design primarily in Photoshop, any shapes i need i'll do in illustrator and import into PS,

3dmax is kewl enuff for 3d and animation work,
Quark is very limiting, i only use it for syncing up plates for print, or if i have multiple pages for print.
A absolutly Hate Flash, know it well, but think its very poorly put together. Tbh i try to steer clear of any programs made by macromedia. Same goes for dreamweaver.

Any1 know if Adobe are planning on doing a flash clone program ?

Swish is a handy little vector text animation program,
Vectra 3d is also fairly nifty, (hav'nd tryed swift 3d yet tho)
Oh and Animation shop on PSP is also fairly kewl for doing animated gifs.

Adobe already have a Flash/swf app. It's called LiveMotion. I don't know if it's any good or what the latest version is, but if you do try it, let us know what its like.

    PaintShopPro <all versions>
(You are currently on day 57 Billion of your 30-day trial period)

Photoshop is nice, but I hate the floating tool panels... why can't they just snap into place like in PSP? ... Adobe have some serious GUI revamping to do before I can be bothered using it again.

I actually really like the Photoshop interface. And Photoshop 6's interface is much better compared to older versions. The tool options are now in a bar along the top, saving lots of space, and on the right is a bar which you can put other tool panels minimised in the corner
