BeOS went into liquidation because of lack of funding so the only thing I have a chance of getting is the Peronal Edition but I want a fully working installation img because I pesonally believe that used to be a lovely OS.

I've sometimes seen it for sale out in uh.. PC World in Blanchardstown. You might try asking them if they can order you in a new boxed copy. I doubt it'll work, after everything that's happened at Be, but it's worth a try.

Theres some tweaks out there to turn the Personal into a more pro version. Maybe those tweaks will do for now.

schro, in terms of Personal Edition inferiority to the pro edition, the main thing i wanted to get past was the fact that you can't really *install* the personal edition, only run it, but there's a very very easy way around it, to install it on a partition of its own. Ask me on irc or something and i'll dig up a url about it. There's basically a program on the system you can run, System Installer or something, and you just set up your partition table, run sys installer, and you can install your system on a partition. neato.

Didn't know they went into liquidation.. Very sad. :(

talk about digging up old posts....

I have 5.04 and 5.1 beta D (never released) on CD. I use 5.1 (AKA Dano) as my main OS, no problewms... though you still need PersonalEdition installed first to install 5.1
