Why oh Why is Buffy on the same time on both TV3 and Sky1...and thenthey both follow it up by showing Angel at the same time.?

Is it me? or is that just plain silly...Surely ppl are going to be watching the new series of Buffy on sky 1 rather than the old episode on TV3

Its just tv3 trying to steal viewers. they do it all the time. I suppose that an irish tv channel just falls under skys radar.

you never know - they might catch all those who prefer 'classic' buffy :)

Its not stupid a all, same reason irish stations so British soaps at the same time.. not everyone has BBC and UTV, there are still loosers out there with only a TV arial so only the 4 Irish ones..

Even more so for Sky.. a lot of people outside Dublin do not have Sky 1 even if they have cable and get the British stations.. so people who have sky are the lucky ones.

I resent that. I have four channels because we couldn't be arsed getting more. If you were to offer me a free dish with a subsription for every channel in the hemesphere I wouldn't take it. Besides I only watch films on my 36 widescreen. New stuff on video and classics on tv.

Besides TV reduces your ability to be original. I find the statistics to prove that statement but then I could just make them up. (Orginality at work :D )

Well I'm glad they, are due to some very good episodes being shown that I wanted to see again, like the counsil coming to tell Buffy that Glory is a god not a demon, lol. The one I'm waiting for is the episode where buffys mother dies, that episode brings tears to my eyes :(

showing old eps on tv3 = good

showing old spes on tv3 at the same time as the new eps on sky 1 = retarded

Yeh, its an interesting scheduling thing.
The reason they show soaps at the same time is that noone (in dublin - by far the biggest demographic out there kids) will bother to watch them after they have been on the brit channels.
In broadcast land its common practise to put similar and strong shows up against each other but thats when its new episodes. I just cant see the sense of putting older buffys against newer buffys.
    I must find out...

have you noticed that the buffy and angel shows on sky1 are out of sync?

Angel started a week later; therefor the crossover epps are not going to work out quite right. (2 buffys ago angel showed up; but angel only found out buffy was alive in the last angel to be shown.. if you know what I mean)

There's a reason for the shows being out of sync. Angel and Buffy are now on different networks in the states and Angel started 2 or 3 weeks before Buffy. In the states they both went off for a meeting in the same week. Even though they are out of sync, you might have noticed that Angel started a week later than Buffy on sky one. Because of the things way are at the moment, there won't be any Buffy and Angel crossover this season anyway so it hardly matters.

    Zombie thread. Appropriate for Buffy.
