Will anyone heed the results and put a bet on the standings!!

I couldn't be bothered trying to work out each teams points, but I would just like to say

    LIVERPOOL ALL THE WAY

    I'm with Lister :)

I only see three maybe four games for Liverpool which might cause probs.

Manchester United. Need I say more?

Don't even say Liverpool cos they have "easy" games. They always lose them anyway. They can only beat teams such as Manchester United and Leeds. Then they go down to Southampton and get hammered.

I already have €100 on Newcastle to win the league at 16/1 - they have the easiest run-in by a mile, and with the selling of Warren Barton I smell a trophy in the air at last :)

Man U will end up with 78points at least, if anyone finishes with more they'll deserve to win it, but I can't see that happening.

I would'nt be surprised if it went down to goal difference in the end,but with teams fighting to stay up you never now what will happen. You also have a couple of derbys thrown in ther as well.

It has the makings of a great run in which is great.
As for the final table , I reckon gandalf could have it right, maybe ManU by 2 points ;)

    Man Utd. - 76 Points
    Arsenal - 74 Points
    Liverpool - 74 Points
    Newcastle - 71 Points

16/1 is a good bet for newcastle, i might have some of that myself if those odds are still there. As for Liverpool I think they have got their old inconsistency back now. They have only won three or four of their last ten, and that is not championship form, in fact I think their season is over. I do think it will come down to United and Arsenal, with United just about pipping them to the post. However, I think it is great that it is going to the wire this season, as the second half of the last two seasons have been very dull.

    4 games from the end..

Arse and Man U - the winner wins the league

i would have said utd until i heard about warren barton being sold.
that means that newcastle dont have the one person you could always depend on to screw up their chances of winning a game.
    goddam it!
im going for newcastle for the league because they havent won anything in donkeys.

by the way, i wouldnt leave out leeds yet.
just becuase liverpool beat them doesnt mean they are down and out.
and we know that utd arent infallibale, although i still predict they will win. at least we can still atalkabout the league in february this year, unlike most of the past 10 years :(

    I predict

    Arsenal 78
    ManU 77
    'Pool 75
    NcastleU 72

And seeing as im not a fan of any of them, thats an impartial guess.

That arguement holds zero water droplets, Man Utd could'nt win to save thier lives in Oct/Nov, the Pool had a crap Dec/Jan but now Heskey has found his contacts things have improved
(Leeds 0 Liverpool 4, remember). All we need now is Arsenal to have a bad spell and the magic/luck to ware off on Tyneside!

Yeesh - can't anyone admit that it's the result of a very experienced and capable manager, who's got a team of good players working well together and not fucking well giving up the minute they go behind??

Who the **** is Man U?!

Get it right! Its Man United.

Jesus calm down, we know who Man U are!!

yeah pornapster chill out. But i think Man U will definetly win cuz they will consistently beat the smaller weaker teams and the likes of Arsenal, leeds and Liverpool won't. So Man u are going to win.

I think this is Liverpool's year.

United won't win coz they won't do the 4 in a row.
I still just can't see Newcastle doing it.
Arsenal's disciplinary record is going to cripple them, ditto Leeds.

I realise these arguments are tenuous at best but, hey, we believe what we need to believe to get through.

    :):):)

But the 'Pool are hitting form at just the right time and considering United's record against the top teams and the 7 losses I really don't believe they will win it this year.

Arsenal are the ones to really watch..they seem to have the luck with them this year.

Said it from a long way back, I still reckon that Arsenholes will win it!! But then again we are after winning 11 out of 12!

Just as nerb said, what about Ipswich? What was the score there? Was it 6 - 0. Yes I think it was :)

I worked it out like this
    Arsenal - 81
    Man Utd - 80
    Liverpool - 79
    Newcastle - 77

3rd again for Liverpool? Hopefully not and hopefully we can get some sweet revenge over Chelsea. 5 - 0 should do nicely

But will they be able to find enough players to get a team together, what with all those suspensions? Vieira will clear off to Spain one of these days too. Keown's eyes are going to pop out any day soon. Bergkamp will go into deep shock from being 3 feet off the ground whilst trying to execute a diving header. Luzhny will go back to the Russian army, Dixon will die of old age, Seaman will get killed by an explosion at a nearby spermicide factory, Ljungberg will get arrested by the hair police and so on and so forth. And don't forget Wenger, how much longer can he continue being a manager with his awful eyesight (I didn't see that.....blah blah blah).
