Ok so it may be a bit morbid but what song would you like played at your funeral?

I myself am aiming for something that might be funny/weird or just make people feel awkward.

I'd probably like the the theme from Shaft playing as I was lowered into the hole. That or the song from the Fast Show (y'know "Please Release Me, let me go.....etc, etc)

hmm let me see... would have to be that U2 song 'Two Shots of Happy, One Shot of Sad' or maybe that A House song 'No More Apologies'.

    If I was murdered...
Thin Lizzy - Killer On The Loose

If I was died in battle...
Edwin Starr - War, What Is It Good For

If I was killed of alcoholism...
    AC/DC - Have A Drink On Me

    And just generally...
Paul Simon - The Lion Sleeps Tonight
(just to have a whole singalong thing going on...)

A wonderful compilation of these songs:

    Mayhem - Funeral Fog
Megadeth - In My Darkest Hour
    Death - Pull The Plug
    and finally...

Strapping Young Lad - Oh My ****ing God (just to end things with a laugh)

Maybe "I Did it My Way" by Sinatra

    or

    "The End" by The Doors

    or something by leonard cohen

Either 'The Crown & The Ring' by Manowar or 'Necrophiliac' by Slayer - just in case any of my ex's turned up. Alternatively 'Save All Your Kisses For Me' by Brotherhood of Man or 'The Birdie Song' would piss off anyone who turned up that I didn't like while I was alive.

I remember they sang that at my cousins funeral.

I'd want 2pac - Life Goes On, just coz it's one of the best songs I've heard ever

my best mate chose to tell me while we were bombing down the M50 that if she were to die young, that she wants "good riddance" (time of your life) by green day.

timing has never been her forte! but still, nice, sentimental song!

Anyone ever heard the laughing policeman? I think it's a kids song... it's pretty much just maniacal laughter. I also want all my mates to be present dressed as fruit. :)
    I'm serious.

Tori Amos - Happy Phantom , hopefully it will make anyone who knows me smile.

    to start with:
    Satisfied Man - Jeff Buckley

    followed by:
Where Ever I May Roam - Metallica

as I'm being lowered into the ground:
Down in a Hole - Alice in Chains

this will be followed by a big stinky drinking session down the pub! (which I suppose is normal in Ireland anyway!)

    Guns N' Roses - I don't care about you

This was a cover. I don't know who originally did the song, but it is so inappropriate for a funeral.

I have freaked out my family, friends and relatives all my life. I intend doing it after death, also.

or the emporors march from star wars.
always thought about fade to black by metallica, but only if i had metallica playing it in the choir section :)

Malcolm McLaren - "Something's Jumping in my Shirt"

    ... or maybe not...

    --

Although I love the song, I wouldn't have Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah" ... because it's religious, and I'm not.

Probably go with Strauss' Blue Danube Waltz.

    Because it's lovely. :D

The Sky is a Landfill - J. Buckley
we circle around the park, joining hands in silence
and watch the evil black the sky
the storm has ripped the shelter of illusion from our brow,
this power is no mystery to us now.

not really appropriate but it is my favorite song so what the hell.

    or New Years Prayer
stand absolved behind your electric chair, dancing.
past the sound within the sound.
