    Hmm...

    All time classics being:

    Conan The Barbarian
    Leon
    Bram Stoker's Dracula

    And more recently...

    Lord Of The Rings.

If I had to choose though, I'd say lotr.

Probably Shawshank Redemption for me, Fight Club's also a favourite of mine, and a whole string of others I can't think of at the minute :).

Mine would have to be Terminator 2.

    Possibly Pulp Fiction

Grosse Point Blank has gotta be up there in the top ten as well as the Great Escape. It's so hard to chose an absolute favorite. Put a gun to my head and ask me then I'm a dead guy.

    Fade to credits

    Me thinks Fight Club

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,997 ✭✭✭The_Bullman

Shawshank is certainly a top ten movie along with Leon and the great escape. Another favourite of mine is The Sting with Robert Redford, I dunno why, maybe it is the theme tune. Other classics have to be Ben Hur and Dr. Strangelove. In recent times I thought that Fargo was brilliant and for the crime lovers out there Goodfellas was excellent.

dont know, its very hard, but Shawshank is definitely one of my favourites but I quite like the Matrix, if only for the fact that it was brilliantly escapist. There are tons of others, but I'd say they are my top two.

Possibly based on the Bladerunner Books 2 and 3 that were published a few years back.?

Frequency(because of how cleverly it was done), usual Suspects, Empire strikes back, all of the indy films and I know im probably going to get slated for this but also Highlander 1 and 2.

Its always one of three, and changes every day.

    Star Wars
    It's A Wonderful Life
    Gregory's Girl

    Apocalypse Now (either version).
    Se7en.
    The Deer Hunter.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 536 ✭✭✭flyz

For the soppy ones I would have to say Shakesphere in Love and Ann and the King.

Actionwise I would have to say: Matrix, Blade and that old classic Predator.

And for sheer brilliance : Shawshank, Usual Suspects, FightClub and Memento.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,521 ✭✭✭Shred

No.1 , probably Saving Private Ryan (subject to change without prior warning...:) )

True Romance, Heat , Shawshank, Godfather 2 & 1 (in that order) - just some of a possible top ten (or twenty:D )

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,389 ✭✭✭✭Saruman

Actually Frequency was very unexpected... very well done that film.. if it was that or Timecop i know what i would pick.

Is there a Poll for the worst film ever? If so it has to be Either Dungeons and Dragons (im scarred for life after watching it) or maybe Bats (saw it on sky digital, briefly before temporary insanity left me).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,389 ✭✭✭✭Saruman

You wont get slated for Highlander 1 but you will for 2? Are you off you head??? It was brutal.. made a mockery of the whole thing.. yeah the immortals are in fact Alien Deportees from another planet doomed to kill each other off till only one remains and he gets a pardon or some **** like that.. Hell that one makes The latest Highlanded film seem amazing

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 300 ✭✭Guinnessman

I agree with that but its more the blade runner type atmosphere and fight scenes of the film that I enjoyed

My nomination for worst film ever would be Spawn without a doubt anyway.
