    i've got a tar.gz archive in win98 and i need to get at the contents.
    any ideas?

    dhould do it dave but if not querey download.com for gzip for windows.
    its fairly easy to get hold of a lot of the standard unix binaries compiled for dos

    I always thought winzip took care of those.

    anyway, Winace definitely handles those archives.

    the other alternative is to get gunzip and run it through DOS...

    got it sorted
    winzip didn't like it at all
    so i used winrar and winace instead

    ye use winrar its deadly for anything some times thought it dose take a while .
