Cd probs

    Just after changing my putter in werk, its not a new putter and da girl using it b4 never had thiz problem with it.
    Right it's a p3 450 128 ram cd/dvd rom drive on it.
    I've just installed Winamp on da thing.
    Prob is when i try to play a cd it lags up for like 2 minutes u cant do anything then it starts playing, even to change tracks it freze's for about 30 secs. It's getting B1tch annoyin,
    Any 1 what might be da problem?

    Right click my computer, select properties.

    Go to Performance, File system and CD-ROM.

    Switch off all disk cache and read ahead and try that.

    check in the bios as to where the cd and hd are, i.e. are they each on the same ide port, having your primary hd on the same ide cable as your cd in some cases can cause this type of problem.
