Channel 4,5 & UTV

    Hi,

    Are Channel 4, 5 and UTV(or ITV) available on Sky Digital in ROI. If they are available how can I get them?, if not are they on the way?

    Everything that I've read on this forum for the past month or so seems to suggest that "the RTEs" will be on-stream from April 2002, but Sky's customer care dept. don't seem to know about it. See e-mail reply recieved today. My message was enquiring about UTV & CH4, but I made mention of the April 2002 date for RTE. Read on....

    replying.

    Having noted your comments, I can advise that unfortunately we have no plans
    to introduce TV/UTV, CH4, and TV3.

    I can confirm that RTE1, Network 2 and TG4 are not scheduled to begin in
    April 2002, again we have no plans for these channels to broadcast through
    Sky digital.

    Jkehoe,

    U can only get utv/other itv regions by using the add channels function on your digibox. See the post re: tuning utv at the top of the board.

    Channel 4, 5 and itv2 are not available in the republic at the moment.

    Everyone: I just heard from a guy I work with that UTV had agreed to allow access via the epg in the republic. Has anyone else heard this? or anything to the contrary.

    That's just some girlie who hasn't a clue what's she's talkin about. Of course RTE will be broadcast on Sky Dig as per their agreement with RTE. It was on 6.1 news for Gods sake:)

    Wondering when the tests are gonna begin:confused:
