Does RTE have any additional new channels on Sky

The above is a quote from the ICDG homepage. If this is the case what is stopping RTE from having extra channels like RTE gold and RTE News. After all they wont need government permission if the programmes are technically being broadcast from a company (SKY) which is outside the jurdisication (Spelling) of the state??

I am quite close to soem of the people in Montrose having worked there in the past and believe you me , they are hard pressed to produce what they have given the current climate in Dee4.

Yes I understand that a RTE gold type service would be just a VT Cart player rolling out progs with pre recorded off camera v/os but even that investment is considered taboo over there at the moment.

and to take the RTE Gold point even further, I am sur ethat the GOLD in RTE would n't fill the output of this station unless you were to repeat the dreadfull crap that is being brough tin from the states and the UK.
