Went there in November and will be going there again in January. You can get cheap Ryanair flights to Prestwick and then get the train into Glasgow City or gofly.com fly direct from Dublin to Glasgow Airport.

The best thing is to get someone from the city to show you around the place. Thats what I did and a night on the tear cost me sfa.

Theres one bar you need to go and see, its called Bonkers. Go there on a Friday evening. It opens at 5 and by 6 theres 1000 people there and then it starts filling up. Bottles of Bud and Miller for 75p, shots for 50p, and they have hourly specials on some other brews like Becks for 50p.

Bonkers is tacky but its fun. There are numerous other bars then that have 2 for one specials all night long and they are actually cool looking and have lots of talent. :P Theres one place called Cube thats small but nice and theres a very chic place called The Corinthian that does very nice cocktails.

For the non-drinkers theres loads to do in Glasgow. I went shopping and got lots of nice cheap clothes. Theres museums and castles. Great places to eat as well. Maos cafe is a nice Asian restaurant with some really really hot n spicy food. Nice sushi bars too.

Edinburgh is not that far away and is a nice city. The climb to the castle will test your fitness though. Loch Lomond is a short car drive away too. Big lake, ducks, boats, etc.

Well its cheap for everything, food, accomodation, flights and clothes if you know where to look. The most expensive thing for me was the £45 train from Cork to Dublin.

    17+

    So you'll be grand. :)

I'd go on a Thursday and come back on a Tuesday. The flights are way cheaper that way. Only cost me £12 return with Ryanair.
