Parts 2 and 3 have been filming for a few months. They'll be released in May and November 2003 I believe.

From some of the storyboards leaked theres going to be some cool fight scenes and they were talking about doing some zero gravity fight scenes by using one of those nasa planes that were used for the zero g shots in Apollo 13.

Then theres going to be the Manga/Anime Prequel after the trilogy ends, apparently.

really? I didint hear that... sounds cool, if a little 'jump-on-the-bandwageny'.

Matrix 2+3 should be top stuff though... the first was surly the best action film ever. tell me you wernt blown away the first time u saw it!

Yeah apparently they are being filmed back to back, which sounds like a recipe for disaster to me :(. 2 was supposed to be released early next year, but Aaliyah(sic) was casted in it and her unfortunate demise obviously delayed the shooting :(

Actually, when there is more thatn one sequel plan, not only is it very cost effictive as sets and propscan be easily reused (effectively adds a 1/3 to the budget as usually they destroy most of the props and sets between filming and have to start from scratch), none of the actors will die between films and they won't have major appearance changes (like Mark Hamills messed up face in Empire Strikes Back due to a car crash between filming of it and star wars)

hehe Afaik it's shorthand for 'spelling is correct?', however bad it looks, that's what I mean :)

Sic is short for Sic Passim, Latin for 'so throughout'.

It's used when faithfully quoting someone who has misspelled the word.

You wouldn't use it as you have, Seamus.

    Say for instance, you're quoting from an article;

In a statement today, the director referred to the situation as an unholy farse (sic)

    farse/farce...

It's basically making it clear that the person you're quoting has misspelled a word rather than giving the impression that you're incompetent :)

Like LOTR I came out disappointed. Theres some realyl good bits in it but the trailers ****ing ruined it. They should have not shown the best bits in the trailers.

That whole Lobby scene is an actionmovie buffs wet dream as are most of the other fight scenes, but the ending severely let the movie down. One of the best action movies ever up to the last 10% when it all goes mushy and stupid.

They ended it with Rage Against the Machine which was pretty cool.

Thinking about it now I'm going to buy the dvd and watch it on the big screen tv and new surround sound system. It will be really cool. Roll on january sales.

the only trailers I saw for the matrix were the wee "nobody can be told what the matrix is..." ones. which show u fu(k all from the movie.

Nobody, Alyiah (sp) was going to be in 2 or 3 and had most of her parts filmed. She was not going to be a major character and there was only minor disruption to the schedule. Poor girl, she was a lovely singer and a beautiful actress.

You can still see her in Queen of the Damned.

The woman who played the Oracle has snuffed it too
Neither her or Aaliyah had finished all their scenes so suposedly they haven't made up their minds whether to reshoot or do some computer imagery thingie instead

Heard some good things about the sequels. Hugo Weaving is back as Agent Smith v2.0, there's supposed to be a really good Neo v 100s of himself fight scene and a car chase scene on the freeway where the agents just keep taking over bodies as their cars get destroyed. Hopefully, given that it takes place in the Matrix itself, the laws of physics will be dumped for a full experience ho hum.

yeah the woman who plays the oracle died about two months ago! but i think the sorted out all that!

Jet Li was supposed to be in the film but he wanted a lot more money than they were willing to offer! It would have been cool to see him in it! But every1 else is still in it - Keanu Reaves and Lawerence Fishbourne! the should be class!!!
