    just so as you know
i bought the £130 multi region dvd player i'd been debating about in richer sounds. tested it on sunday (it's an xmas pressie) and i must say how delighted i am.
picture and sound quality was superb and it was able to handle a new rce encoded us dvd.

granted the actual machine and menu's are quite ugly, but the output is more than worth it

Excellent stuff. I'm getting one later in the week for xmas and am dying to watch the LOTR:SE on it with my 32 inch TV. :)

might be an idea to read here first:

for a lot of opinions on that particular player.

it takes two button presses to make it multi-region... so just buy the normal one.

[edit] ahh old thread from last year hence the-corpos price...

It's not a bad player (although early models of it had some really poor reliability problems - not sure if they persist in current models) but I'd still recommend the Scan SC-2500 in the same price range as a better bet.
