    BBC News Interactive launched today.

It's similar to Sky News Active.

It's available all the time on BBC News 24, but is apparently also available during news programmes on BBC1 and 2.

Have any ROI viewers seen it yet ?

Yes, I had a brief look at it.
Is is available at all times on the BBC channels. Just press 'text', and select the new feature from the menu. You have a choice of buttons 1 to 4, which show video footage continuously.
1 is news, 2 is sports, 3 is weather and 4 is 'live plus', a sort of video footage of the house of commons etc.
It's a smart, seamless service., better than Sky IMO.

Hi Charles-Have the BBC active on news 24-its coooool!
Unlike Sky you only have one section at a time-ie no windows!
Its got a choice of 1 news headlines
    2 sports round up
    3 weather update
4 Live extra-currently showing a live Jack Straw press conference

Am pretty sure Brendan Kehoe has a bbc card and the gear to put up a few screen shots-will send him an e-mail -unless some one gets them up first!

It's a nice RED blue and yellow backdrop.

    Yeah it's pretty cool alright.

And it means we're (kind of) getting BBC News 24 by default.

And it's great the way it's integrated with the text service.

    Thumbs up.

that text service the BBC has given is something else. video screens, change channel while reading it. great stuff. all we need now is a lot of the CEEFAX stuff in there and it will be better than any other text based service on Sky

Looks great. Nice that we're allowed to view it, being from ROI. One wonders why ROI can't view News 24 as it's only a news channel. There's hardly many copyright issues involved

one suspects it is Sky who are not leaving us see News 24 as they want as little competition as possible for their tabloid news channel

Thats exactly why Fox News will remain in "add channel" but it will stay there as long as Eutelsat want it here, and not Sky.

Fox is on Eurobird and this serves most of western europe and is not there for Sky.

So Fox most likely wont be on the EPG but Sky cant block it unless they make the freqency invisible, but thats a complete TP gone.
