    How would the good people at boards feel about providing a newsfeed (Usenet-style) of the boards? It'd make reading lots faster for the 56k-bound news geeks among us.

    Oh, and just so you don't think I'm a horrible troll, I'll even volunteer to do any backend NN(R|T)P daemon madness necessary for it, if you like.

    I'm not sure I follow, you want to put the boards into Usenet form?

    Sounds like a good idea, I'd leave it till we have moved to Unix though as I bet it can be done easier... its the sort of thing that would be..

    It would have to be on ie.boards.afterhours and ie.boards.quake etc... good thought tho. Remind us in the new year.

    Yup. Just have them available via an NNTP/NNRP server - possibly just for reading, since authentication might be a pain otherwise.

    Just a tad. :o) I didn't realise the boards were running on a nonunix. Glad to hear you're switching. :o)

    I was thinking more of a private boards.ie newsserver, not attached to big 'ol USENET. But we can talk about it in the new year. Good luck with the switchover.

    I was just thinking about this the other day actually and meant to post it.

    It would be so cool, obviously being able to post would be better, but if we couldn't do that read-only would be cool.

    Oh, and Cian just check disable smilies in the post and your nose will work.
