All Winmodems are PCI - there's no ISA winmodems as far as I know (correct me if I'm wrong). So if its ISA (like the Pace 56k int) then its likely to be a good modem, and linux compatible.

PS Use FreeBSD you freak biggrin.gif

Regi, there are in fact ISA based Winmodems and they're as bleedin' muck as the PCI model.

he VoiceSurfr is a hardware modem so this will work with any IBM compatible
PC with a ISA slot, it will also work in any operating system that supports
Hayes modems or communicates directly with the comm port.

    does this make sense?

any ideas how to get it to work?
    i've tried isapnp
    and no go

also i tried to link /dev/modem to different ports and no success. under windows its on com2 so under linux it should be /dev/tty3

    right?

when i run minicom it tells me that the line is already busy.

    any ideas?

yeah I had the same problem, even after editing isapnp.conf with all the proper lines it refused to even acknowledge the modem was there.
