Ah c'mon now, Anti-Christ Superstar wipes the floor with the Holy Wood...

And, having just bought it, I also heartily recommend System of a Downs latest offering.

How In Flames and Papa Roach can be mentioned in the same sentance is beyond me... But...

    Here's stuff to try.

I see you like Tool, so therefor listen to Opeth, fantastic band.

If you really do like In Flames, check out Dark Tranquility.

Children Of Bodom, if you want some catchy rifferery, and baddass guitar playing. Truly brilliant.

Can't go wrong with Rammstein, eh lads?

For the mellow, depressing type stuff, My Dying Bride are above all else, brilliant. Get "The Angel And The Dark River" if you can ever find it... Fantastic album, and rare...

But I totaly agree with Pie here...
    Antichrist Superstar.

Holy Wood put me off Manson.

Between "Tibor" and "DerekD Goldfish" you have a list of class music that can last you a lifetime...

A few more of my favorite older albums in no particular order
    Beatles "The White Album"
    The Doors
    Elvis Costello "this Years Model"
    Gin Blossoms "New Miserable Experience"
Any early Metallica (tons o' folks have only post black-album stuff - I dont mean to presume but just in case...)
    Crowded House - "Woodface"
    Matthew Sweet- "Girlfriend"
    The Essential Pogues
    Fountains of Wayne "Utopia Parkway"
    Michael Penn "Resigned"
    The Clash "Combat Rock"
    James "Laid"
    Cracker "Brand"
I know you asked for "Rock" maybe these are a bit soft but all great albums in my own humble opinion.

Jaysus i'm stuck in the early '90s sorry I really cant think of anything new that hasn't been mentioned most new "rock" is really sad and most of the newer bands I like don't actually have albums yet.

...and props to DDG. for listing some fine Irish acts in there.

I am extremely amused to see Orbital listed as a 'chill out' band as they have about four songs under 120bpm.

Maybe so... But Orbital has made one of my fave chill out songs ever: Halcyon On&On.
