Was anyone else fighting the need to throttle
the idiot commentating on tonights game between
    Liverpool and Dynamo Kiev?

RTEs' very own George Hamilton has in the past caused me
heartache but he is a giant of the mike by comparison.

    Great result btw!:D

I agree somewhat. John Aldridge was a bit rough & ready alright.
And of course it was about 20 seconds after DANNY MURPHY had put the ball in the net that they stopped saying GARY McCALLISTER had scored!

"It looks like Littmanans coming on...."
    On comes Patrick Berger
"Gerrard passes to Smicer (on the left)"
It is of course someone else, because Smicers on the right,
we know this cause he recives the cross-field ball 2 secs later.
    Arrgh!

As for Danny Murphy/Gary Mac well one bald bloke looks much like another!

I don't expect too much from an old pro like Aldo but a proffessional like ???? should be at least competent.

    Mike.

You mean the chubby fella who does all the commentary on tv3?

Gawd I hate the way he says "Valencia", as in "ValenTHIA"

Maybe it is pronounced that way but I mean... shut up!! stop trying to me so smart you f*ckwit!

    :)

    Honorary Professional Side-Kicks
just because they played the game
dosent give them the right to commentate
they do for football what Murray Walker does for F1
    at least hes retired

PIE it is pronounced that way in spain but anyway.....a true irishman wouldn't be able to pronounce it at all!

TV3's commentary is so bad that i actually dont watch the games on the channel anymore.

    George Hamilton rules!

Is it me or can that commentator not pronounce tackle?

I can remember on numerous occasions him saying "Tatle" instead of tackle

It all started when TV3 first got to show Ireland games and the muppet called Kenny Cuningham, "Kunny Ceningham". His confidence has been shattered since!

This is our man Frank Stapleton, but he really says " TADDLE" not "TATLE" please concentrate on how poorly he says things.

It's not the first instant of Frank saying something stupid, in numerous other games he has made some remarkable remarks such as:
    "Almost a world class pass!!"
"He was rolling around as if he was hit by a bus"
"I'ts like a corner only closer in"

    Poor Frank.
Now he's Irelands No. 2 behind Big Quinny!!!

has anyone actually phoned to register thier vote for man of the match?

do they have options only for irish players ;)

it seems like whatever team is playing, the irish players always seem to be playing the best football.

I must say they excelled themselves tonight (not j aldridge) the other toss!~!

to hear the amount of mistakes he made :It looksl ike The german champions Borussia Dortmund are going out of the champs league"

"Stephen Gerrard may have to come off but they have a made replacement in Jamie Redknapp" even though redknapp plays in the centre not the right hand side

And theyre were more just cant think of them !
