    Aldi have a Tevion home cinema system (DVD player, integrated amplifier, AM/FM tuner, 5.1 105W RMS audio) for EUR 89.99 on Sunday. It looks impressive on paper anyway, and I've bought Tevion stuff before and found it to be good quality.
    Any opinions?
    * 105W RMS surround-sound system
    * 5.1 channel DVD player with AM/FM tuner
    * Passive system
    * DVD/DVD+R/RW/VCD/CD/CD-RW/JPEG/CD-R/Picture CD
    * Progressive scan
    * Parental lock
    * On-screen display
    * Multi-language subtitles
    * Built-in amplifier
    * Composite video output/S-video output
    * Y/Pb/Pr output
    * SCART output
    * 5 x 15W satellite speakers, magnetically shielded
    * 30W passive subwoofer

    Looks like a very good price for a cheap starter home cinema package.

    Remember the days you couldn't even get a DVD Player for that?

    Does anyone know if you'd be able to hook up an mp3 player to play through this yokey ?

    Might be possible if it has Auxiliary Left/Right input at the back.

    From my limited knowledge of home audio, one thing I do remember hearing is that with a passive subwoofer only the sounds specially encoded to use the sub will be heard. 5.1 channel DVDs and Sky movies will be ok, but if you are watching / listening to the telly or a CD through this setup, your sound won't use the sub. You'd need an active subwoofer for that, apparently more expensive.

    Hope that helps.
