a friend reinstalled windows the other day.
but as it happened it was installed on a 2gb hidden partition, leaving the old OS on the majority of the harddrive.tried to format the bigger bit but cant.
any idea how to delete all the stuff on the old bit and merge the partitions without making mess of the whole thing?
    thanks
    wavin

if you can boot into the old installation, install partition magic and use it to unhide the 2gig and make it active

Can't you install from scratch again & you will be given an option to delete the partition.

the 2gb partition was hidden in the old installation but is visible now, but cant do anything to format it and merge it with the current OS
was hoping i could do something without reinstalling again.
