    Hey all,

Aside from the one for €79.99 on page 1075 on the current Argos catalogue :) has anyone any suggestions on where I'd get a decent one for a good price? The car is in bad need of a wash and I'm feeling lazy so don't wanna have to scrub it down tomorrow :D

I think that washer in the argos is the one my gf got (same price). she got an electric shock from it when washing her car. I wouldnt buy one.

Did she get water in the socket it was plugged into? Even spray could do it. Or had she got the socket in a bag like, so it couldnt get wet.

No offense, but i doubt it was the washer at fault.

Cat pumps make the best power washers, but they are a bit pricey. You do get what you pay for though, and provided you dont let it out in the frost it WILL outlive you. We have had one at home for years for washing machines, and I always use it to wash the car.

    e.g. http://www.catpumps.com/select/pumpdetail.cfm?PumpID=118&link=1

With a motor and all my guess is it might come to €1500, but thats just a guess. Overkill for just washing a car!

Something like this might be a more reasonable alternative: http://www.karchershop.ie/shop/product.asp?P_ID=176&PT_ID=0&numPageStartPosition=1&strShowBackLink=n

The socket was inside the garage and she was washing the car outside (obviously). It was a fault in the power washer

Got the KARCHER model no. K 2.94 M with FREE € 100 worth of accessories all for the bargain price of € 149 at Woodies. This price includes the EMC charge as I have seen in Atlantic Homecare the € 149 plus € 5 = € 154 . Works a treat on cars etc. etc.

For you sanity however by the one with the best throughput you can afford. Its not much use having 1500psi if the pump is only delivering a trickle.

I used a cheap one before to wash a car, and it was hell. Instead of the broad (1 - 2 ft) jet from the Cat I got this small little thing that was next to useless.
