FTA = Free To Air, Stations (BBC1,BBC2 etc.) which are non-ecrypted by SKY and are available to view withouy a Skycard.
EPG = Electronic Programme Guide, an on screen version of the RTE Guide, tekking you what's on and indeed what's on next.

As for a satellite dish and cards, you could of gotten a basic system fron either Aldi or Lidl for E 200 and purchased a SKy card to view certain channels only. ie. FTA channels as above. I'm not sure if you can get a Satellite card to include Sky's entertainment package and Sky Sports also.

I hope the above will help so what.:)

Everything on the list except CH4 and CH5 is available to anyone in Ireland using any make of free to air reciever,Sky or nonsky. To view 4 and 5 you must obtain an English Viewing card which are only supplied to bonafide UK and Northern Ireland addresses and will only work in a SKY Digibox. there is also Itv 4 now which is fta and can be viewed here no problem. Although the list is large dont expect high quality programming on other than a handful of these channels. The subscription price for sky with sports pack is expensive but You can be sure of excellent entertainment for as long as you keep up the subscription, why not treat yourself for a season.

The most cost efficient way to get all the free to air channels and sports is via an ART football card on a second LNB at 13e.

sorry to the newbie if that's incomprehensible but essentially I am saying that for a little more initial set up cost , your annual sub will be well less than half the SKY price and as a bonus you will get a lot more channels too.
