If I buy a PSP now will it have 2.0 or 2.01 firmware?

And just a quicky if I do get homebrew working on it will I be able to have region free UMD movie play?

    Thanks,

    maiden

i think that all euro PSP's (first batch) were shipped with 1.52, they very well could of upgraded the firmware on newer batched psp's.

i'm not aware of anyway to play UMD's region free

Games are region free and movies are the same region as Euro ones.

I doubt it. The christmas rush will be on the 360. I've seen PSPs everywhere.

FYI - Xtra Vision are taking pre-orders now for the next batch due in 2 weeks.

There only selling them as bundles with games.
Basically its a PSP value Pack with 1 game for 299 Euro - 30 Euro to pre-order.

They dont know anything about the giga pack and realistically they dont see it coming before xmas.

I think I'll get my giga pack from here http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?cat...ducts_id=7924&

In more recent news, price drop in Hong Kong means Lik Sang prices will drop... for those who don't mind ordering in from overseas.

Sorry chief, I spoke to some lads I know who were working in Game... last time I spoke to them they had just received 40 so while "everywhere" may have been wrong, I saw 40 in one place and BOXES everywhere. Those forty were gone in an hour and a lot of places are now just displaying boxes... niiiice.

So my idea of bringing a few extra back from the US may pay off ;).....unless customs find me :)

The PSP with 3 games is over 100e cheaper here (US of A)
The most expensive games are $45........its ridiculous how much we get ripped off in Ireland.

Yeah, the PSP is going to be scarce for Christmas, along with the Xbox360.

the only problem with this idea is that the PSP won't play the UMD movies that are available here in Ireland as it will be locked to region1. I know cos i brought one home for my brother in the summer
