    Hi all.

I am looking for utility for naming mp3's easily. I know you can do in windows media and several other programs but my mp3 player likes each cd or artist in a seperate folder and all my mp3 are all lumped in together and badly named, any good utilitys out there?

    D

PS all my mp3's are legal, taken from my cd's :D

Use Itunes because you can actually rename the file names and edit ID3 tags etc.

Whereas if you use the likes of Windows Media Player, the program will store the file names in its own database so if you want to move all your mp3s etc. you would have to rename them all. Catastrophe!

are the id3 tags there, but just bad filenames?
there are a lot of utilities for file naming from id3 tags
or other way around, I also have a good one for doing the tags
from the web if files are sorted by album in folders..

http://www.id3-tagit.de/english/index.htm is quite handy. You need, i think, some Windoze net doo-hickey to make it work, and it's got the odd bug here and there, but I think it's might be what you need!

I find a program called 'Tag and Rename' to be excellent for this malarkey.

I use mp3tag from www.mp3tag.de and it's pretty handy. It might do the job for you, though if they're all lumped into one folder then you may need to sort them out first.
