Just wondering if anyone could help me out with a couple of questions! I have a Sony Vaio Laptop with a P4 3.06, 512MB Ram, Raedon 9200. Since I cant upgrade the gfx card I was hoping to upgrade the Memory to 1 GB Ram. The Laptop can take a Maximum of 1GB. My Questions are:
Will this upgrade make much of a difference to the way my system runs games? At the moment I can run games but there is a little jumpiness.

Also what is the best type of Ram to buy and what would 1GB cost? Where is the best place to buy it?

Oh yeah, the laptop is a Sony Vaio PCG-K415S

    Any help would be apreciated!

just did a search on the kingston.com site...

    http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/configurator/partsinfo.asp?ktcpartno=KSY-GRX500/512

its for the 415B ... not sure of the difference between B and S ...

there are apparantly 2 slots on the motherboard ... so you'll have to check what you need ... if you've got 2 x 256 mb chips ... then you'll have to get 2 x 512 mb chips ...

    else its just 1 x 512 mb chip ... :)

As for best place to buy .. someone else might be able to help you there

Thanks for the Info! Yeah there are two slot on the mobo. I know that I am going to need 2*512 and the maximum allowable is 1gb. Should I expect to see much of an improvement in performance in games, or is the gaming performance related to the gfx card only! Anyone know what type of Ram I Need and any ideas on price??

yes you should see an increase in performance.. even games that are very easy on the graphics card .. e.g. world of warcraft runs way better with 1GB of ram compared to 512MB and even better still with 1.5GB ram

What kind of GFX card is needed for WOW Lazygit? Was also interested in buying guildwars to play it online. Does anyone know what gfx or memory is required to run it at a reasonable speed?

not 100% sure mate.. one of my friends plays it on his laptop.. his is a 1.8 p4 with 1gb ram and a 9600gfx and it runs fine... Guild Wars is a little bit more graphic intensive than WOW

error9 already answered the first question, but here is a another place you can get it.
All PCG-K4x models use the same memory, so even though your specific model isn't listed - the memory will work.

    Specifically:
    Your laptop uses 200 pin SO-DIMMs. DDR333 / PC2700
