    Sad!

But even sadder was that story about the guy whose last entry in his weblog ended with him staying that his sister's boyfriend came to collect his bike and was causing hassle outside and he was going to see what was going on.

The next day.. we found out the sister's boyfriend killed him!

    Very sad!! :(

    Wow, thats crazy.

Read through about 5 different forums about him ... Some seem to be saying none of his familly can be contacted....Not home...Suggesting missing?

It's also crazy that the story is all over the net...motivation etc..but seems to not have reached the authorities yet (Or at least the media don't know about)

I'm sure he spread himself around a bit to find notariety...well now he's got it...

    His poor victims...RIP

[Edit] In the last 10 minutes, he's gone from "on probation" to perm banned on SA by lowtax...a bit late tbh, but i suppose it's the gesture that counts!!

    http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1711278&perpage=40&pagenumber=1

He started a thread about What shotgun to use, most powerfull, how there are "Gangs" in his area, and eventually insinuated that on Halloween, he was going to shoot at them because the keep stealing/shooting his pumpkins...
    http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1704519&highlight=

Here's the last post calling for mod to lock thread:
"Paging Lincoln's Wax to thread number 1704519, we have a gimmick poster out of control/possible future legal problems. You guys understand how the media would jump on this if this ****wad is real and actually shoots some kids this halloween, right? **** this.

Please, get the **** out of TFR."

    And here's the news story:

    http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/10/29/neighborhood.rampage.ap/

Never saw this story actually...didn't realise he was autistic actually :o Now I understand the sympathy...poor guy
    http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-shooting1nov01,0,5728150.story?coll=la-home-headlines

There's loads more if you look...there's about 10 forums he posted on that are talking about it/ linking to his profile/posts

The guy killed himself after the shootings.

Jesus, that's really awful. You can see that some of the other SA members are feeling very guilty about teasing him and also providing him with information on firearms.

Basquille: I remember the story too, it's awful.

Damn that's really messed up! Trust somethingawful to help someone commit suicide.

The crazy guy is dead. SA ban accounts belonging to dead people (it's not like anyone will have a legitimate use for the account).

...because they told him where to buy the gun.

Haha! I wonder has anything like that happened on boards.ie? Obvioulsy it wouldn't be as dramatic as that was.

If I wanted to buy a gun, I'd find out, internet forums irregardless.

So, if I run someone over tomorrow, is it the fault of the Motors forum, if I asked them where to buy the car?

I was laughing at the forum members, not the shooting. That was retarded and disgusting of him. The question about boards.ie was a serrious one.

Yes because they knew full well that he was going to go kill people and then himself. Don't be stupid.

Unfortunately yes :( He can be found in FAP asking girls what they wore for halloween and the like.

He was autistic and a little bit crazy (well a lot actually) ... you can even tell from his posts...He seemed tormented/bitter/irrational ...which led to more abuse..made him feel worse..drove him more crazy...autisim is a vicious circle if people didnt know he had it/didnt understand it.....it's just a shame he didnt manage to get help in time :(

On a side note, good call on selling guns america...a 19 yr old kid who has mental problems can buy a 12 gage shotgun over the counter, top of the range BB gun and a pistol...

I think someone mentioned it already on the SA forum but if you have 70k members then a couple of them are going to do stuff like this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,811 ✭✭✭Stompbox

    That story is unreal.

I was going to say the same. I have read some of the other forums he frequented and it wasn't that there were not enough people who could/did try to stop this. As for SA they only told him stuff that was acceptable. Nothing about go kill yourself.

As for banning dead users, its traditional on SA. It has nothing to do with what happened. As I recall another account was used after a member died.

Saw a mention the parents are missing? Prior to his death he gave one of the SA goons a custom title suggesting he had killed before.

What if you said that you wanted to buy a car that can do maximum damage to pedestrians as you intentionally drive into them? That is the equivalent version
