Yep, its a gorgeous island, beautiful weather and small enough to cover comfortably in one day in rental car.. Tons to do, but very few beaches if ur into that.. Lovely old buildings and loads of history.. The walled town of Medina is well worth a visit..

I was in Malta about 4 years ago and it's gorgeous! The weather's really nice and there's loads of things to do and see. I'd highly recommend it! Another nice place to go is Sicily, that's fantastic.
