After 5 years of good service our Pace Digibox has finally given up, well the tuner anyway.

The local TV shop says they can replace the tuner for €70.

However we had hoped to upgrade to Sky+, under the €150 deal, but it looks as though we can't do that, tis for multiroom after all.

We did contact Sky directly & they said they would replace the whole system, Digibox N all for €110, although, who knows how long we'd be waiting for them to send some1 out, LOL.

There is always the last option of Sky + for €299, but we obviously don't really fancy that.

Before y'all ask, we're way past having warranty & we didn't get any Sky Cover Plan thingy.

So which option do you think we should take, or can you offer any better suggestions. :D

    thx in advance

EDIT: Just had a quick look on Sky.com, saw they now have Sky + & multiroom for €69, could I get this?. Maybe I could fix up my pace digibox & get this offer.

Seems there might be some light @ the end of the tunnel, LOL.

earlier this year our digibox died after 5 years service.

I rang sky and asked them could they replace it, they said sure, 110 euros it will cost you. I said no thanks and asked to be put throught to the cancellation team.

I was put through and was asked why i was cancelling. I told them the digibox was dead and i was not paying 110 euro for a new one when NTL would give it to me for free.

We went through the cancellation procedure - to the very end - i think - and then out of the blue she said, hang on a second while i talk to my manager. she came back on and said as you have been with us for 5 years and never missed a payment, we will offer you a new digibox and installation for free, if you agree to stay with us. brand new digibox installed two days later!!!!

you need to have the nerve to go through with the cancellation before they are willing to drop the price!!

you'll get a s/h digibox on Ebay from the UK for next to nothing, also you'll pick up a Sky + box for under £100, then call sky and upgrade you account,

BTW you will also probably need a new LNB, Im sure someone on here will fill you in.

But I'd also try the cancelling sub route.

try cancelling my sub, ay, the thought never crossed my mind.

Did't really think we had any standing, seeing as how the digibox is technically our property & not the responsibility of Sky.

    Might try it out though.

I've no real pob with paying the repair fee, I had just hoped to use this opportunity to get rid of the old system & get Sky +.
