    Yah duh.

He is not the second best striker in Britain on current form. (duh)

YES! I hate Owen the TÍT

Ok I'm a Liverpool fan and i reckon Robbie Fowler is just as good as Michael Owen just different style. Also Robbie's a bit more mentally unstable, I'd say if he was working under Alex Ferguson hed'd be bagging 25-30 goals a season

I agree. He should have left Liverpool by now. He has too much talent to be left out of the picture.

Well if Houllier would just give him a bloody run...

Which he will get now, w00t, go Robbie!

I don't think he'll work as well with Heskey as Owen does though.

But with Litmanen feeding balls to his feet he should be lethal :)

No I don't think Houllier has the managerial capacity to bring the best out of Fowler, for his sake I think he should leave

We all know that Fowler is the Daddy of English strikers.

Its about time Houllier use him.

There is talk of Hakan Sukur joining Liverpool on a loan. This has two major implications:

    1. Owens injury is a lot more serious than we have been led to believe.
    2. Fowler still aint popular at Liverpool!

Put that in your pipe and smoke it:)

but the fact of the matter is phil thompson isnt helping poor robbies situation....hes just an arrogant sod that thinks just cos he played well for liverpool he can be a raging lunatic.....he should be sacked then maybe fowler would have a hope

First of all... haha to Owen being injured...

Secondly... None of the Liverpool strikers deserve to be called the best strikers in Britan... Everyone knows its Larsson, Hasselbaink and van Nistelrooy...

Thirdly... Liverpool aren't going to get anywhere near the playoffs in the CL. And the WILL NOT win the Premier League.

The trophies that Liverpool won are nothing (apart from the FA Cup). They will always be in the shadow of Manchester United. Well for another decade at least.

    Oh shut up.

Anyway, Larsson is good, but until he proves himself outside Scotland, nobody is really gonna take him seriously. And yes I know he has played well at International Level but still...

Van Nistelrooy... I have to say he really has not impressed me so far. And to Hasselbaink I say "eh", he blows hot and cold.

The only people Fowler seems to be unpopular with is Houllier & Thompson. The fans still love him, as you can tell everytime he comes on the pitch by the huge roar of appreciation from the fans.

In short, for anyone who didn't read this or understand it:

    "Fowler 0wns Van Nistelrooy"

    Ty.

Van the man is up there on his own for now... wait till he gets someone to play beside him, then he'll be getting 2 and 3 goals a game.

Hasselbaink was top goalscorer in the Premiership last season. And top scorer in La Liga (Spain) the year before. So stick that in Fowlers cock and smoke it.

As for Fowler owning van Nistelrooy... I say pfft! Fowler will never ever be as good as him. Not much more to be said.

Van Nistelrooy needs about 20 opportunities to stick one away. His first touch is... bollox basically and for someone of his height he's not very commanding in the air.

Stop defending him till he proves himself in a league a tad more demanding than the Dutch league. So far, he hasnt justified his £19m(?) pricetag.

Chances are theres been so much hype built up around him that he's never gonna live up to it.

"Next Marco Van Basten" my ass.

Well he has scored 3 goals... and that is more than... lets see... Litmanen, Fowler, Heskey and Owen this season in the Premiership. Am I right?

Uh, no you are wrong. He's scored 2 in the Premiership this season, in the first game against Fulham.

    Same number as Michael Owen.

Anyway, Michael Ricketts has 3 goals so far. Does that make him a better striker than van Nistelrooy? Obviously, by your logic.

    <edit>
I've read two seperate Football Stats sources now.
    One says:
    Van Nistelrooy : 2
    Owen : 2

    The other says:
    Van Nistelrooy : 3
    Owen : 3 (12 in all competitions)

    *shrugs.

If my memory serves me correctly... I can remember him scoring against Newcastle. And one more today. So please get your facts straight.
