Poor signal in bad weather

    Hi,

I installed the Lidl system a few months back, very happy with the extra channels.
    Q. - I have a perfect picture on good weather days, but with wet & windy weather (last night) the picture is unwatchable, would replacing the reciever and/or dish with a more powerful one be a solution or would I have the same problems with any satellite system ?

    Thank You.

PS Thanks for the heads up on ITV.

its either the signal strength is low and rain reduces the signal strengthand therefore picture breaks up. if you used the lidl bracket its probably moving in the wind my lidl bracket actually pulled away from the wall in wind (it was 100mph +) but the picture always broke up in relatively light winds. i replaced it with a heavy duty bracket from a local satellite shop got the tuning better and no problems so far.
my guess is the dish is wobbling and losing the signal
have a look at the picture

That looks familiar, mine ripped out of the wall during the storms last february. I also got a heavy duty brqcket and it works a treat.

    defintely the bracket.
My bracket broke due to high winds also last febuary. but before it did on windy days it was just unwatchable.

I got fed up of all the wind in the west of Ireland and bought a proper dish to deal with it but the council insist I leave it off the house !

In all fairness the amouth of heavy rain we have been having lately, almost all will suffer some degree of breakup, unless of course your dish is sheltered from yje worst of the elements. I have 4 digiboxes set up and all have about 95% strength and quality (one block away from full bars on system menu also) and I suffered a good bit of picture break up last saturday night during the heavy rain down here in Waterford.
