Advanced folder options?

    Hi,
Is there any advanced way of arranging folders? By amount of files in them, size of content etc? All I can do is arrange by name at the moment on windows:(

Also, when you "explore" or click the "folders" tab of a certain directory, is there any way you can explode all folders instead of just exploding/expanding them individually?

Finally, is there any way you can transfer a folder to another drive as is minus some folders/files. For example if I have E/Personal/Documents/2004/January and January has a list of folders inside it and I only want to transfer some of them, well the quickest way I know of at the moment is (depending on size) either copy the whole January directory over and delete the ones I don't want, or else create a January folder in the destination drive and then copy only the contents of the January folder I want.

    Any feedback appreciated:)

You've got limited sorting in the basic windows explorer. So no folder sorting without a plugin or replacement.

To expand the subfolders, click on a folder in the sidebar and hit the * key on the numeric keypad. (- to close again)

    Quick copying.
Easiest is Ctrl-A to select all files/folders. Hold down ctrl and unselect each file/folder you don't want. Same as you're doing without the intermediate folder step.

thanks for that num pad thingy, worked:)

yeah that Ctrl and click thing is what I have been doing, but again, I either have to make a new folder and call it January or else copy the folder and then delete. There is no way to select a folder while exploring a folder and being able to ctrl and pick January and then ctrl and pick the ones in January no?

For the Arrange by thing, I think you want View->Choose Details... then choose what you want to arrange by.

I've had some trouble getting these settings to stick sometimes (like removing the music specific arrange by options in my MP3 folder), but there's a fix involving deleting some registry entries that works if ya need it.
