I cant really see anything to be honest. I doubt its meant to mean anything then again you never really know with lost.

Is this to do with the i-ching or something along those lines?

Yep it's all i-ching. I know it's completely irrelivent but I couldn't resist posting this. The sympols are meant to be translated very losely and are not meant to tie you down to a specific meaning.

Oh dear. I've just realised that translating this is some difficult s**t. There are some guidlines for people with an open mind here

By the way it is widly used as a form of divination

Well, this is all very well, but what does it mean for the show? The Dharma Initiative seem to have borrowed this symbol for their own ends, and I don't think that the original Buddhist principles really hold true for whatever work they were doing. Sorry to rain on your parade.

Well on their own the trigrams don't mean anything you have to add another one to attain a hexagram and a better meaning. I didn't really understand how this whole thing worked when i posted this thread. I'll come back with more knowledge.

Yeh the use of the I-Ching could be just as a logo... nothing to do with the original meaning...

Much like the swastika being adopted by Hitler (although there could've been a meaning to that... I know feck all about history)

But then again this is Lost...

Yeah, not 100% sure about the reliability of this website.Seems like the meanings are wrong with many hexagrams but maybe i'm wrong. but i think it's fair to say that at the moment it is completely irrelivent. *sigh* Well, back to my secret lair to make more lost theories.

Didn't see this posted here, but this is also from that page if you look at the source code...

Phase 3 Disclosure: The Dharma Initiative is not a secret international research project. You see, the island is part of another "dimension", I guess you'd call it, and is sort of "in between" the universes that are made of light matter and dark matter. We call it "Dharma". It's part of a whole planet that is pretty much available for colonization. It could also be used as a future conduit for inter-dimensional/intergalactic travel. The only problem is that we can't exist there naturally. The island only materializes when there's a solar eclipse. During that time the unique electromagnetic frequency added to the gravitational distortion allows both it and us to exist within the same space. But that "effect only lasts for 108 minutes, and then the island disappears from our world, taking any inanimate matter with it that's left behind.

If you were standing on the island after the primary eclipse period ended and the 108 minutes were up, you'd feel a great big suck of air and then "PLOP!" you'd fall right back into the ocean. Naked.<p>We are trying to change that. Actually, Majestic 13 developed a machine years ago that allows us to exist there. It's weird, but once us and the island "disappear" into the Dharma dimension, we have days and nights just like the earth one. But we can't travel more than 42 kilometers outside the machine's effective range.

The plan is to develop a way to genetically engineer animals with the right quantum frequency so they can exist in Dharma on their own. That's what the project is all about, and until now it's been classified.

The fictional tv series "Lost" is part of the worldwide disclosure plan.

Em wow? What webiste is this now? I wanrt to make sure your not spoon feeding me bullplop. I would guess that it's fake though. Why would they post their entire plot line on the inter net. But if it should come true I'll say i knew all along!;)

It's from the dharmainitiative.com website. Select the empty space under the logo and the text will appear!

No offence but i think it's all a crazy hoax. Wierd think with the link to call somone with the screen name of alvar hanso. If someone were to get through it might be wise to ask him what one snowman says to the other.

Does anyone know if dharmainitiative.com is registered to abc? (same as the other 'official' lost sites..) If it is there might be some truth.. seems like a plausible theory..

They usually have a Disney terms and conditions thing if its an ABC site so I'd say its a fake. Plus the site looks ****e.
