Heard this on Rick's show on 2FM and it kinda fits in well in this section, if you feel your being ripped of for buying something check out

    http://www.ripoffcard.com/

Its brilliant, fairplay to the guy for coming up with it!!

I think those cards are a rip off. If you have a problem with the price you can just complain for free.

"Complaining verbally to someone behind the counter or on the phone may not get the action you desire. Your message will most likely not be passed along. "
Is the card or sticker going to make any difference?

Is there not some irony in some guy ripping off people who feel ripped off? Most logical people would think like kc66, but some saps who can't print off their own little cards (I accept most people don't like to complain) will be lured by this website, and good luck to them!!

Ya this only a bit of fun and if you say to him its a rip off, just click on the "if you think its a ripoff link" he shows all the prices of what the cards cost him to make!

To be honest i think its a sound idea but would make much more of a sway if they were free and given out to people on a busy day in town or something.

Why would someone want to BUY a 'ive been ripped off card...'

In my experience a verbal complaint at the counter with a manager / supervisor followed up by a to the point letter to the customer services rep / dept. does the job. And the price of a letter will only cost you time and 50c

    Just a thought!

Ahh the boards.ie obsession with items for free :D

Simple solution to this, if you dont want his card dont buy it, if you feel a place is ripping you off dont go there!!

Someone here with more money than sense needs to buy the book and come back and tell us what this thing is that Eddie Hobbs was afraid to mention .

    Give the guy a break!
He actually tried to do something, granted he wanted to make a few bob while doing so, but a rip off, I don't think so!

You think you can do better then do it, don't just knock for the sake of knocking. If you do better than he did then the market will respond.

We all rally to the cause of the mysterious "they" that know no better, and rail against anyone who attempts to nanny us in turn - consistency ?

I was a little bit sickened by the response he got in the other thread, it indicates why we will always be easy meat for being ripped off, invaded or generally exploited, we have the traditional Irish "why fight an enemy when you can fight a friend, or even better family" nobody will ever have to do the divide bit of divide and conquer as we are experts in division.

Now I am off to have a look in on the other great boards.ie tradition, offering insultingy low amounts on the for sale board for items that could be gotten far cheaper if you ordered via a message in a bottle cast into the ocean while dancing naked with a goat.

If I ran a shop and someone gave me one of those cards after buying something I would p!ss myself laughing at them, if they left a contact number I'd ring them up and ask them to come back and buy more overpriced gear in return for more "you're ripping me of, boo hoo hoo" cards. I'd then go and set up a challenge with all of my other rip-off retailer rates to see who could get the most cards.

How is that supposed to motivate retailers to cut prices, all it is doing is telling them that people know they are charging too much but are willing to buy the stuff anyway. It would make me put up prices even more.
