    ok, i know it was probably advertised everywhere in the newspapers and on the radio etc... but i was an hour late for work this morning because of that stupid marathon, unfortunately i live in an area which is completely surrounded by the marathon route and my workplace is on the other side of the main route....

    some road signs warning of the closure of every main road around me would have been nice, didnt know about it until i tried to get to work and was told "well you should have known about it, its on every year" - thats not good enough notification for people, christmas is on every year too, but that doesnt stop it being shoved down our throats for the 2 months preceeding it.

    // end rant

    Don't know why it was locked because it could do with a bumping.

    It's the scariest thing about Halloween tbh..
    All those super-fit people with nothing better to do that to run for miles around Dublin in the cold and wet.
    Freaks I tells ya!
    Puts shivers down my spine...

    Seeing them train around the streets of the city and suburbs all through the year should be warning enough..

    now if i only i saw that thread before today...

    its just a joke that i was on my way to work and i asked a couple of gardai had they any idea of any alternate routes and i just got a dumb blank look off them and was told "youll just have to wait until after 12", not good enough when im in work at 10.30

    and i know it was probably advertised in the newspaper, but would signs on the roads that are going to be closed not be the most efficient way of notifying road users?

    I was quite shocked to be woken up by one thousand people + running by my house this morning. I had no clue it was on.
