I was in Beyond 2000 today just off grafton street and they are selling the student/teacher edition of Macromedia Studio 8 for 110 euro (this includes Dreamweaver 8/Flash Pro 8/Fireworks 8) Considering Dreamweaver 8 alone is 562 euro on a standard licence this is a great deal!

I think macromedia need proof that you are a student before they will authenticate the software

Im not sure how these things work, allthough the shop assistant said all I might have to do is just photocopy my student card and post/fax it to them. As a student myself this isnt a problem :)

AxonWare are doing Macromedia Studio 8 Student edition for just €105 euro ex VAT.

    :p

If like me you're not lucky enough to be a carefree student, you can get Macromedia studio 8 at the discount upgrade price €439. All you need is previous copy of Studio, Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, FreeHand, UltraDev, or ColdFusion Studio.

Studio 8 includes the latest releases Dreamweaver®, Flash® Professional, Fireworks®, Contribute™ and FlashPaper™, Studio 8 offers web designers and developers a new level of expressiveness, efficiency and simplified workflow to create websites, interactive experiences and mobile content.

    :D

probably like microsoft you wont need anything to prove it. but you may as well download the software illegaly if u are using it for business, save your 100 euro - you wont have a valid licence either way.

When I got a student version of Studio MX a few years ago, I bought it online from a shop in Cork (micromail or someone), and they required a letter from the principle stating that I was a student before they would send out the box. They then sent out just an empty box that had instructions on how to contact Macromedia, and I had to send away a letter to them before I got the software. Something like that, defo 2 letters anyway.
