Mac "cranky" about booting from CDs?

Just a quick one. I collected my iBook after getting repaired and started about setting it up as I had before, but it seems to be bypassing all burnt CDs I used before - namely it used to boot fine to the Gentoo and Suse Linux CDs, but it now just pops up a question mark box and then boots into OS X.

Anyone, eh, ever run into this?

I have seen this before and it's possible that when your iBook went in for repairs, the firmware for the main board has been updated. All macs are very specific about which OS CD's it will boot from. I work with 3 different variations of G4 towers and one G5 Tower and they all boot from different OS CD's. Usually they only boot from the CD's that came with the machine. You may need to contact the guys who repaired your machine and see if they upgraded your firmware or see exactly what they did to your machine.
