Was regressed recently, and was a a frail man, bout 50, called Sean O'Driscol, from Castlerea. Year was 1789. I was walking home from Mass along a bótharín with a stick in me hand for support.

Anyone know anything bout this? I cant convince myself of this, I figure, you ask the mind something, it produces an answer.... but saying that, i'll look into it.... and thus this mail.... anyone had any PL experience? And Anyone know if there were O'Discols in Castlerea (doesnt sound like a west of Ireland name thou).

Been regressed twice now, and both times a man..... does this mean anything?

Any thoughts or theories on PLR... please share?

I'm doing a course on PL regression in Tallagh.
the teacher is Tom Collins and he's based in Templeogue, I think. I will get his card week and PM ye the contacts.

Alternatively, you could check out http://www.enlightenment.ie and it might have some contacts in area near you.

Also, if you know any hyponotherpists, they may do this for you also. As it is conducted in similiar fashion. but if attend PL analysis as a form of therpy, then obviously go to someone trained and experienced.

thats a handy link, some informative stuff there. It might be an idea to add it to the resources sticky over at the spirituality forum.

I had a past life regression two years ago. When I emigrated to IE I noticed that I know this place very well and there were other things I needed to know. As it turned out I was a wealthy lad in my former life but left for the States nontheless where I became a teacher, got married to my Irish girlfriend who left with me and we had a son. During the regression there were plenty of images that came up. Funnily though there are things you can almost remember and you just know that was me back then.

I'm not too sure how I feel about this topic. I was reading a link Zillah provided in another thread http://www.skepticreport.com/psychics/sylviabrowne.htm and the article raised some interesting questions:
Browne also hypnotizes children without their parents being present. A very telling sign that past life regressions are fantasies is that none of the children speak the way an adult would, even when they are "remembering" past adult lives.

    and also:
Despite the lack of detail, these regressions are described as true. However, often the historical information brought "back" is wrong. And never has a historical fact been revealed in a previous life that was later verified by archeological findings. Never!

So the obvious question arises: Why not have a history professor sit in on these sessions, ready to jump in with relevant questions that desperately need answering? "Dave" used to be a tailor in medieval France? Speak the local dialect, please. "Jill" was born in Assyria 4,000 years ago? Translate these scrolls and tablets, please. "James" was a neanderthal? Explain the usage of this artifact. "Amanda" was born in 1834 B.C.? How does one determine that Jesus will be born 1834 years from now?

There is a wealth of information buried in these recollections. It is only a matter of asking the right questions. Why won't psychics allow this? Why keep humankind from knowing about its past? Why not verify if these past lives happened at all?

I remember reading about Edgar Cayce when I was younger and it's been a while but I'm pretty sure he was accurate in his readings, so I'm not saying I don't believe we can remember past lives. Actually I believe some ppl can. But the questions above are valid and I wondered if any one else wondered about that as well. I'm not talking specifically about Sylvia Browne, but about past life regression in general.

Some very interesting points there and some questions I've always asked myself when thinking on this topic.

I would be interested in trying this myself as it's something I've wondered about (I'm being honest here, and revealing my nerdiness!) since I saw the first series of the X-Files way back when.

It's nice to know that the House of Astrology deals with this. Cheers for the info guys.

I think I would like to try it myself as well, just to see what I might say.

Although if we can remember our past lives and we ended up being horrible people (can you imagine recognizing you had been Hitler for example) then is that something we would be prepared to deal with afterwards?

Also, some people believe that a little part of our past life memories are opened up to us through dreams. I have had the same dream on and off since childhood, it's so vivid I can remember the details to this day. The dream often picks up where I had left off before and the people and places in it are familiar although I don't recall ever being in those places in "real life".

So who knows? Just thoughts I've had really.
