    Hi

A guy is offering a pc with :

AMD XP2600+ Processor with fan and heatsink
How does that relate to a P4 chip, and speed
Sorry if i sound stupid but need to get this right
eg if u said it was roughly = p4 2.6 or p4 1.7 etc I'd have some grasp of it

    Also :
    have had An offer of
    Dell 5000 I think , maybe 5150
    2.8 Ghz Pentium 4 HT
    512 MB Ram
    40GB HDD
    CD/RW
    128 ATI Radeon Graphics Card
    TV Card
    Speakers
    USB Mouse & Keyboard
    USB wireless Card

would this be worth 300 / more /less (tower only no monitor)

I am not sure if you can even ask this here, but I need something, way behind on course work , and also something on Ebay I need to decide on real soon

This was nearly funny because the answer was 3 posts below you.

Edit: 300 euro is probably about right for that machine. If you just need it for coursework and couldn't be bothered, then go for it.

If you don't want the Dell can I ask you to point me in the direction of the seller?

AMD named those chips to the equivalent Pentium ones.

    So a 2600+ would be the same as a P4 2.6GHz

I have an AMD Athlon 2600+ and it's a good chip...

    Hope this helps ;)

the actual clock speed is 1.92~GHz ,but the equivelant of a Pentium 4 @ 2.6GHZ ..or is my understanding*

*may not be right atall atall

    thanks for the replies

that linky is showing it near to a P4 2.2 hmmm

wizzard: I guess I could point you in his direction if i decide against it, though you didn't answer the question (and help me decide) re 300 being good value .

though I guess your interest is answer enough :)
