I ordered 2 of these chairs. Came to something like €97 or so.
You have to be a business supposedly but just ship to your place of work if ordering for yourself. Or make up a company name. You do not need a VAT number though you might get Ex vat if you can give one. not sure how it works.

Do you have to be a business to order anything from viking direct? I was planning on ordering a desk for my room from them soon.

No - as far as Im aware you dont have to be. They charge you VAT so if your registered you can claim it back. I set up an account online and ordered with my personal credit card. There was no problems

Cheers for the info. Presumably you didnt need to use a fake company name or anything? & you just got stuff delivered to your house yeah?

Ordered from Viking before and very quick delivery. And you don't have to be a business. You will get bombarded with catalogues from them from now on tho' :D

Agree fully. Doesnt matter if you are a personal or business user. The only diffrence is you pay the VAT if it's private or personal use. Fast dlivery but they wouldnt necessarily be the cheapest. Watch out for the special offers (they are cheaper than anywhere with the offers) and order from their online shop as it is always miles cheaper than the catalogue.

I ordered two of these the day before yesterday but they said they were on backorder. Must check the order status again.

ON the bright side, my catalogues arrived yesterday. Whew! :D

Free delivery if your order is €60 or more ex. vat
You should be OK with those 2 items

I noticed in the catalog i got from them, in the furniture thingy that they have a great home office deal. you get a computer desk, small cabinet type thing and a nice bookshelf all for €200!! Might get that some time.

@blastman haha maybe i got your 2 :D Thats funny. i order a day after you and get them before... Did you order as a home user? Maybe i got them faster since i did it through my company and see us as a potentian new customer. At least all the catalogs will come here.. not to my house :D

Nope, I ordered to be delivered at work. Now gimmie back my chairs!! :D

She said they were out for delivery yesterday, flippin' driver probably thought I was just getting a catalogue! THey haven't appeared today either so I've to phone again and get them to trace where the hell they are?

Of course, now that I know they're at Saruman's gaff, I'll just tell them to go there...

Actually... just checked and its online.

    €239.99
Im assuming thats WITH Vat as €199 is ex vat and it is in line with adding 21% on.

Nope. All online prices are ex. vat so the offer you viewed will set you back €290.39

I'm sitting on one of those chairs at the moment — bought it a year or two ago, when they were €49.99 + VAT

They're a grand comfy chair, but be careful where you place them. The leatherette covering is very thin and if you keep knocking the top of it against a wall or door or whatever it tears as easy as f*ck. Doesn't affect the comfort factor, of course, but rather spoils the "Ah, Monsieur Bond..." effect! :o

Viking Direct are great for general stationery/office supplies, I've been ordering off them for years. They're not usually this keen on "furniture" items, but two of those chairs delivered to your door for €80 +VAT is definitely a no-brainer...

How? You must pay the VAT if you are a private customer

Still waiting on these chairs, am now waiting over 24 hours just to hear where they have disappeared to. Viking are not making a great first impression at the moment.

Ordered one of those chairs yesterday morning and received it this morning - assembled it in about 10 mins and is nice and comfortable. Reasonably sturdy piece of kit for the money. Would recommend if you're in the market for a comfy office chair.

Ordered two this morning, order status shows a delivery date of 31st Oct - do they deliver on bank holidays? Too good to be true, 'll update on Monday evening.

Huh????? Eh i think you miscalculated or did not understand the post... its €199 EX vat in the catalog. This cant be €290 with vat :D
The chairs said EX vat but this set online does not say ex vat.

Anyway comfy enough chairs!! 10 mins or so to put together.. though one of them i have the chair base the wrong way around so instead of tilting back it goes forward slightly.. need to sort that out when i can be arsed :D

Finally tracked mine down late on Friday afternoon. The chairs had actually been delivered a few days beforehand, but the facilities department had assumed they were for them!

Anyway, put it together over the weekend and I have to say I'm very pleased. Very nice chair especially at the price.

I dont know what it cost in the catalogue but that particular post contained a link to a home office package which was given as €239.99 which is ex. vat. Now if you add 21% to that you will get €290.39.

The only time that the catalogue price will be cheaper than the online price is for first time customers or for existing customers who have not ordered for a while.

All online prices are ex. vat. Try ordering online and when you get to the checkout the vat will be added

Delivered the chairs yesterday just minutes after their customer service promised to deliver them on Thursday when I can actually collect them myself – they left it with the neighbor – good value chairs, not great or anything, has that cheap plastic and cheap leather feel to it but comfortable enough and good value by rip-off-republic’s standards.

Think Securicor was mentioned as the courier they use during one of our phone chats.
