    ur kiling me.
i keep it thinking its holding 2 3 or a poker of twos but thats the highest hand witht he lowest cards.

it must be a high card hand with no pair so if theres two players then its 2 4 against 23 on a board of ace 5 6 7.

    is that right?
    do i win a prize?

i had just settled for 2nd place in an stt a minute ago having only half a big blind but kept doubling up and in the space of 6 hands won it! won my target for tomorrow out of it too.

    cheers big ears,
    d.

but those arent the nuts of the hand so the answer must be trip jacks

    on 2, 3, 6, 8, jack rainbow
    ur killing me man!

    QQQ

I think the lowest board with no possible straight is 2 3 7 8 Q
and if the four suits are represented no flush is possible
therefore pocket QQ with the Q on board is the nuts.

    damn you.

The lowest possible nuts in my opinion would be about down to your knees, although I did hear of a pigme from the Amazon jungle with a pair down to his shins...although its never been proved..

If a female player had the lowest possible nuts Id begin to get woried, but of course not in Bangkok......hahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahaha

Actually the lowest possible nuts belong to Mr Squirrel of MostSouthTown, South, Southshire, South County, South World.

Ooops have I done another Doc?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,679 ✭✭✭Daithio

cant have str8, so 2378Q board is the lowest board with no str8. Best hand from that board is QQQ.

edit: just realised this was discussed above..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,806 ✭✭✭Lafortezza

I think the answer is QQQ on a Q7823 board with no flushes possible.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,832 ✭✭✭careca

is it QQ on a board Q2378.

edit: just see this has been done. :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,375 ✭✭✭padser

does anyone else feel that since nicky posted the correct answer (albeit without and explanation) within 5 mins that the rest of the thread is irrelevent?? Although that would make this irrelevent too....ooops

As you all know the correct answer is QQQ on a 2378Q rainbow board. Just wanted to confirm it.

Although I like Shortstacks answer best....

A nice handy one but I was bored last night.... :):)

777 could be the nuts, but not on the river. You would definitely think you had the nuts if the flop came 732 and you had 77, right? You wouldn't think "oh good, I flopped a good hand but little chance to make the nuts by the river"?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,881 ✭✭✭bohsman

No youre all wrong, its QQQ on a 2378Q rainbow board

That actually happened to me once!

Except I had 4,5o and the board was suited so I guess really I just bet Queen high. Oh yeah, Jude had the nut flush. He called.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

but what if on a 2378Q rainbow board you were holding 77, and the first burnt card had been exposed by accident (Queen), and then it happened again the second burnt card (Queen again), and again last burnt card before the river (8). By the way the dealer is very clumsy. He also forgot to put a cut card at the bottom of the deck where you can see another 8.

Then surely 77 would be the nuts.....

why the fcuk did i write this....

OK Here's the second part of these boring Poker Trivia Questions.....

In a Ten man ring game what will be the average hand that wins the Pot.

I may need to double check this next part, but ...... the answer to the above assumes that all 10 hands go to a showdown .......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

i dont know if this is right but i heard the exact average hand is Q7 or Q6, but thats not what your asking is it?

    I dont know maybe JJJ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,047 ✭✭✭Culchie

I'll go for a two pair, say 88 and 77 on average.

I think Q8 is the average base hand against random hand.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,537 ✭✭✭Ste05

As far as I know Q7o is the average starting hand, but no that's not what I'm asking......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,881 ✭✭✭bohsman

    Trip Queens?

    or a pair of tens

    Now tell me i'm wrong..:D

    two pair?

    Flush

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,124 ✭✭✭NickyOD

    straight.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 275 ✭✭Tackle

Straight is more likely than flush when I think about it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,013 ✭✭✭kincsem

I guess two pair Aces over eights,

which as some gent on a DVD kindly pointed out turned into a full house for Wild Bill Hickock when he got another bullet.

ok definitely trip jacks this time!
    and definitely not queen seven

and shortstack i resent the idea that i only post when i'm drunk! which reminds me, what time is it....?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,537 ✭✭✭Ste05

OK, I'll let this go on a little bit longer, but there has been one correct answer so far.......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,375 ✭✭✭padser

Im going with somewhere between two pair and trips.

    straight

wih 5 cards out there, and 10 hands to match you'd guess trips, a straight and possibly a flush would be out there more often than not...

    between a str8 and a flush

    Two pair, Qx, Kx, Ax.

For the answer to this question, we need only to observe the 1c/2c limit hold em tables, where all 10 hands frequently get shown down:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,537 ✭✭✭Ste05

The correct answer is JJJ - wp Doc nc...... :D:D

    EDIT -

Sorry Doc, but RoryC got it right first, so I have to give the credit where it's due.....

    wp Rory nc :D:D:D:D
