web hosting for dummies

Hey, i work for the marketing department for a web hosting company, and although I know marketing inside out and back to front, I am not so smart when it comes to I.T.
Who wants to gimme a crash course in web hosting?
I just need someone to explain terms to me, there is a lot of computer slang used when it comes to hosting and I am a bit clueless as to what it all means.
I woudl really appreciate any help you could give me on this,

There could be something here for you, make sure you read the reviews before
you buy to see if its for you. I can't recommend one as I haven't read any of them. Sorry!

btw, to fully understand web hosting you would really need the fundamentals of networking under your feet.

I am currently reading little publications like "get with IT" etc, they are helpful, but I guess you can never learn too much!

I would ask the company to explain it to you, as it would probably help you since you work in that field

the guys here are really helpul, but they are also crazy busy and I don't want to impose on them. I might buy a couple of IT related books, a bit of night time reading might help

Go to www.webhostingtalk.com and read the discussions in their forums. You'll learn everything from running a webhosting business to securing a server.
