Strange Occurences

I'm not exactly sure what category my experience would fall into but it was definitely paranormal, anyway judge for yourselves.

A few months back myself and my girlfriend moved into a new apartment, now the interior of the apartment is basically new but it is built into a shell of a much older building, a home for elderly widows. As well as this the ground floor of our section of the building is a funeral home which has also been there for quite some time. Neither myself nor my girlfriend were bothered by either of these facts (unlike some others, who left during the viewing) so we happily moved in.

This is where things started to get weird, my girlfriend was away for the first two week I spent there and for the most part I was all alone (except for the cat). I definitely begin to get a strange vibe sometimes, most often during the night. And soon after the first few days, noises of stones being thrown around started and they have been happening ever since. It isn't very frequent but it will usually happen at least twice a day. I also began to feel strange myself, depressed and having unusual thoughts which is completely unlike me. Thankfully these feelings gradually subsided.

At any rate there have been a lot of strange little things going on as we have been living here, alarms going off once or making odd noises, objects being moved and the cat acting in an increasingly bizarre way (which is something coming from a persons who has seen a lot of cats.) Some of the other residences have mentioned the odd happening here and there. But it was what happened last night that pushed me to write this.

I was asleep in bed when I suddenly woke up, I'm not sure how long I was asleep for but I can assume it was some time. I was very sluggish and couldn't really move properly but I wasn't paralyzed. My eyes were really sore as well, like I had been squeezing them closed hard for a long period. Now I usually leave the bedroom door open a bit so the cat can come in and out and as I looked over a human shaped figure came in. It was tall and well built but it seemed to be made of smoke, trails wisped off it as it moved. It was very black compared to the rest of the room. I was completely terrified.

It walked around the bed to my girlfriend’s side and stood there. At this point I just wanted to get away but I was too weak to stand but a managed to get out of the bed and I began slowly edging away from it, and then suddenly it was just gone. For a while I still couldn’t move properly and eventually I could walk. I walked around the apartment for a while checking things but nothing was out of place (I still thought it must have been a person). Needless to say I didn’t get much sleep for the rest of the night.

Anyway sorry for the long post guys, I just wanted to get as much detail as I could across. Comments, theories, suggestions welcome.

Can't offer any advice, but I'd be freaking!! Mind you I wouldn't have moved into a place above a funeral home but then again what you are experiencing might not be connected with that.
The odd time we've had a 'visitor' here, the cat has always gone mental. We have had a sighting as well, as you described, very misty. The only thing I've done is ask it to leave and I haven't seen it since, but I don't think our one was malicious in anyway.

Has anyone else, like your girl friend experienced as much as you?

The night you saw the figure. Im curious about the end of the story. Did you lie back down in bed afterwards or did you stay up?

Aside from all that, staying in a new home on your own for two weeks is bound to leave you uncomfortable.

Sometimes at night in my own house im not quite comfortable if its really dark. If my family is away and Im on my own thats increased. If its both its worst.

So, you being alone, at night, in an unfamiliar place is bound to make you feel wierd.

Im not saying that that is whats going on, but it certainly explains some of it.

count me in too but i agree all points to normal "new" house and alone environment that you were on your own so from personal experience hightened senses , mild noises amplified etc but the "vision" i must say is a twist of twists. How often have these noises and others events occured regularly or not? Any other factors on those nights rain and wind? drink?(not implying ur a drunk or anything just u know what drink does to our brains) personal emotions stress? an intresting situating plus the thought of the funeral home is enough for suggestive thoughts(it might be at the back of ur mind no matter what ur personal opnion is and playing on ur subconscious!)

Hey all thanks for the interest,

Just to add that my girlfriend has also seen a figure mostly standing in doorways and for a briefer period. And both of have had an increasing number of odd dreams, some quite disturbing. One thing I also think is worth mentioning is a persistent high pitched note, not very audible unless you are listening for it. I'm not sure if it's related but it is quite interesting. (Oh and to finish the story, I did lie back down but I didn't go back to sleep.)

I would agree that the "new place" factor may be a influence for the strange feelings but we've both been here for months now and neither of us are strangers to moving to new places.

The noises are quite regular, at least once a day. Other events are less regular but are in the range of once a fortnight. The events usually happen no matter the weather, rain, wind or shine. Being young and getting staggeringly drunk now and then I'd had my share of visual and auditory hallucinations but again drink isn’t a factor as the events occur while both of us are sober and neither of us are under any undue stress. Perhaps it is a uneasiness on a subconscious level but I doubt it.

Finally it's in the St Patrick’s area, which seems quite old. A lot of convents and the like around.

That sounds quite sinister actually..I would consider getting a medium to investigate if things get persistent and begin to bother you alot

Although I wouldn't assume this figure is evil. And it's probably more scared of you, hence it hiding and only having a look around when you're asleep!

I wouldn't consider a cleaning, I'm not sure why. It doesn't seem right somehow.

I told my mother about it and she told me that she has been seeing the same think throughout her life. She descibed it exactly as I saw it without me mentioning the details before hand. She basically told me it is related to the family, apparently going back a long way. She also mentioned it was a protective entity and it had saved here on several occasions.

Unfortunatly my grandmother has long since passed away and she was an authority on the matter.

Anyone heard of this sort of thing before? I'm becoming increasingly interested!

It's hardly some family guardian or something like that? Just a thought, for I don't really know...

Now this is something extremely interesting.

You say this entity was human-shaped, but had trails of smoke while it was moving.

I have absolutely no idea what this could be yet. However, I believe it is "living" in your area and to be real, as your girlfriend has also seen the same entity.

The only thing I know of that comes closest are flying human-shaped entities, that have appeared in Mexico. I am in the posession of video footage of these entities. It is not an experiment of the Mexican Military, provingly. They can fly without a noise and stand still in the air. What this is, remains unknown, however, many people have seen them.

For your entity? I really don't know. Maybe I check some of the websites I know about this.

I've tried to do some research both on the area and what I've seen. All I can seem to find on the area is that it had a high amount of "cage workhouses" I don't want to assume anything but the building seems quite old so it might fit the bill. Other than that I could seem to find anythin about the buildings time as a Widows House. I'm going to try find some of older people who lived in the area to see if they know anything more.

As to the entity, unfortunatly I couldn't find anything similar. I've seen the video HomonQlus was talking about (here: http://www.rense.com/general66/flying.htm) but it isn't clear enough. The description stated the figure moved by floating but the entity I saw definatly moved as if walking. Then again the mexican figure was in the sky so walking probably would fit anyway. The next thing I found was an image of a "shadow person" (here: http://www.anomalies-unlimited.com/Shadow_Person.html) there seems to be alot of info out there on these guys but again it doesn't seem to match my experience, the accounts I've read state that the figures are more silhouette like and very fleeting.

I'm going to look further into the family guardian aspect.

How could you possibly guarantee that?

Because it is simply impossible to render an object moving like that into such an shaky image (the shake is because of the zoom and you cannot hold the camera perfectly still).

If you are able to do that with whatever software, you pretty much have digital imaging revolutionized.

Also, the outlines of the object are consistent with the surrounding - if it would be a rendered object or put into, it would have a higher resolution and would still appear more sharp as the rest when you zoom it in (in a snapshot of that tape). This is not the case.

Therefore, the footage is real.

Well, I don't know much about digital editing, but just off the top of my head, wouldn't it be possible to take a steady image, add the figure and then simulate the shaking?

Regardless of whether the footage is genuine, the question is what is the object. Much as I love the flying entity stories (of which there are credible reports from witnesses), that looks like a balloon of some sort.

Hey guys, have a new addition to the goings on. About half an hour ago there was a bright flash of light in the living room of the apartment. My girlfriend and I both saw it. It was very like a camera flash but didn't seem to have a source. There was no noise when it happened. I can't think of anything it could have been. All the electrics are working fine.

Last investigation I was on, we saw a lot of flashes and a wonderful example of an orb that moved, stopped then changed direction!

It's getting interesting now. VERY interesting.

My advise is, to install video cameras or webcams, and then record everything in the house. In case something like this occurs again, you'll have genuine footage. This is definitely beyond anything I have heard before.

Yeah, gonna set up the auld DV cam tonight or tomorrow night hopefully it'll capture something. Can only tape 90mins max though.

I believe in these people.
I have often seen shadows around me and I constantly see flashing lights in front of my eyes ever since I was a child. Sometimes little spots of light sometimes flashes.

I drink a lot of caffeine so I put it down to that but I can never be sure.

Why oh why would you assume that a race of shadow people are responsible instead of you having some sort of eye problem? If you often see shadows and flashes and light spots around you then go to a doctor. And if you think you're drinking so much caffeine that its causing hallucinations then maybe you should drink a little less coffee.

Hey aussie, nothing major lately. Still have the noises but no appearances. Starting to get used to it now.

Tried to get some video footage, but the tape is only 90 mins so, nothing yet.

I'd say it's a remote controled toy or something as it doesn't seem to have wings. It also seems to have a light source.
