I have a sky+ plus box in a bedroom and another ordinary one downstairs
I just got chorus to disconnect me as I was paying them too. This is my problem!
My son is fuming as he has no stations in his room, unless we put a digital station
on downstairs, but we cant watch toon disney forever.I was wondering about
a free to air card and digi box for his room.Is this possible??How would I do it??:( :(:( What do I have to purchase??

you need to run a CT100 cable from the quad output on the dish to your son's room.

You also need a sky digibox and a FTA card. These are inexpensive on Ebay.

you might also consider a multiroom set up as Big Paddy tells me they are dropping the price to 5.99 in November

Oh, news to me, though we don't do multi-room much. But €5.99 is much better than the overpriced €15.

I wish now they'd just totally drop the fees on Sky+ (if you don't have 2 premium services)

You dont need to do that.
You have the most important thing for your setup already in place. The LNB on the dish (the thing out on the end of the arm) is a 4 output one. That means that you can connect up to 4 digiboxes to it.
You are currently using 3 of them (Sky+ requires 2 outputs and your other digibox is using 1 output). That means you can connect another digibox to it.
All you need to do is get someone to connect a length of satellite cable to it and run it to your sons bedroom.
Then go onto Ebay and search for a reasonably priced secondhand digibox(http://cgi.ebay.ie/Amstrad-DRX100-Digital-Receiver-Silver-Black_W0QQitemZ5820010314QQcategoryZ96970QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) and an FTV card (http://cgi.ebay.ie/FREESAT-ITV-CH4-CH5-CARD-NEW-SKY-YELLOW-HOUSE-IN-STOCK_W0QQitemZ5821342685QQcategoryZ60837QQcmdZViewItem) and your done.
Those are just examples of whats available.

Although the solution seems simple (get another digibox and run another cable) it is not simple. Most houses were not designed to carry the amount of coax that we need today and unless you want your house to look like a telegraph pole with cables running down the outside walls right left and centre then the simple but not hugely popular solution on these forums is to stay with chorus.
