I dont know if this is the right forum but I need your help.

I just moved in with the boyf and yesterday our electricity was cut off. Now he is paying the full bill tomorrow, but it will take upwards of 48 hours before we are reconnected after the bill is paid, ie at least friday, possibly tuesday cos of the bank holiday. So how are we going to survive with no hot water, lights, tv, music, hot foot, etc? Does anyone know if we can buy little generators or anything like that? the first night without power was a novelty, but I dont know how im going to survive much longer!!!

    any help much appreciated!!!! :)

    hehe, sounds like fun :p

    Here's your solution...
hot water - buy a tripod and start a fire under your pot of water
lights - I hear candles are romantic ;)
tv - get a sheet of cardboard and cut a square out of it, then look through it and pretend you're looking at the tv!
music - can anybody play musical instruments? if not, fear not, just start a 2-person, acappela band!
hot food - just take any cold food that you have, wrap it in a towel, and rub it. The friction will have it heated in no time!

    What's the problem, again...?

    :D

hot water, - take cold showers
    lights, - buy some candles
tv, - you don't need tv
    music, - radio + batteries
hot foot, - get him to suck on your toes

    It's a wonder we've survived this long as a species! I don't know!

Generators are expensive. Candles, takeaway and "entertaining" eachother are much more romantic.

Get yourself a little gas burner for boiling water for your tea, and pop down the shops and buy some books/magazines to pass the time. Book in some eating time with parents, ask them can you shower, etc in their house too.

Ha ha ha eat out for food but seen as yer only payin the bills now maybe te ve no money,
Have lots and lots of sex that will substitute for tv and you ll be so tired you ll forget about showering and lights.
I dont think everyone from the esb bails out even on weekends/bank holidays.

Generators are expensive, and noisy, you can't use them indoors and one would drive your neighbours mad, think noisy diesel van parked in your garden with the engine running. Saying that, you can hire them from DIY rental places. Better idea is to pop into a camping shop and pick up a little camping stove and a gas/kerosene lamp.

Maybe you should also pick up some sleeping bags and a tent, it'll be pretty cold in the house with no heating. They'll be doubly usefull if he's forgotten to pay the rent too :)
