Looks like he's entitled to something (25% I think)

Not really. Its all in the T&C on the site, that I read when they started the promo.

All the usual. Must use both hole cards and go to a showdown stuff...

    From the ppp site:

    How does it work?
It’s simple! Land yourself a royal flush at any of our cash tables over 25c/50c and claim your share of the prize! If you are at a table where the stakes are greater than $1/$2 NL or PL you get 100% of the current bonus!

    In No Limit/Pot Limit Poker:

For games with stakes up to 25c/50c, the winner will receive 25% of current suited jackpot.
For games with stakes from 50c/$1 to $1/$2, the winner will receive 50% of current suited jackpot.
For games with stakes greater than $1/$2, the winner will receive 100% of current suited jackpot.

oh that kinda sucks for us skint bottom dwellers. I was really chuffed for him too. Nice to see someone win the lottery and all.

How about a 5euro bonus or something for the ultra low stake stuff?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 686 ✭✭✭The Troll

Stupid. Should be paid out at all levels IMHO.

does it have to go down to a showdown on PP....?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 914 ✭✭✭PPP-Pit Boss

Yes it does and both hole cards must be part of the hand.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,383 ✭✭✭Juan Pablo

Does Omaha count or is it just that two card lark?

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 21,254 Mod ✭✭✭✭Dub13

Is this a software issue...ie you don't keep record's if there is not a showdown....?understandable if it is,but it will mean If I am lucky enough for it to happed to me I will be hampered in my devious attempts to extract the most amount of chips from my unlucky opponent.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,679 ✭✭✭Daithio

It's fair enough really that they don't pay out on the smaller levels. I mean they're not paying nearly as much rake so they shouldn't be entitled to the bonuses that go with paying all that rake. If I was playing at a higher level and they were giving away my money to people playing 10c 20c I'd be steaming.

We request a hand ID for each claim. The hand ID is then verified. If elligible we pay out if not we do not. It is not a software issue just the T's & C's of the promo.
Not really hampered.. after all would you not attempt to get the maximum value if you had a royal flush? How is this any different.

Omaha is not part of promo, neither are STT's / MTT's
See above for the reason we do not pay out on micro-stakes

If I hit a royal flush and have my eye on the bonus (as you do),I am going to be reluctant to bet as if my opponent folds I will miss out on the bonus therefor making me play the hand differently.

Its only a small point as the chances of it happening are so low.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 914 ✭✭✭PPP-Pit Boss

If I had a royal flush (I WISH) It would be my intention to do my utmost to make my opponent pay me for it. If I was in this promo I would be doing the same. Still dont see the difference....

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 21,254 Mod ✭✭✭✭Dub13

Think we are all mixed up here...

Here is how I see it,if you hit a royal flush and you bet and your unlucky opponent folds you don't get paid as there has to be a showdown. So you would be more inclined to check it down therefore playing the hand differently.

Em but if the amount of money in your opponents stack was insignificant in comparison to the amount of the bonus (the most likely situation) then you'd be a fool to bet at any stage in the hand for fear of him folding and the hand not going showdown and you missing out on the jackpot. Also I'm sure it will change the way suited connectors A-T are played preflop. Also more than likley how someone would play a flopped straight flush draw. This thing will (and should?) change the way certain hands are played on your site.

I couldn't care less to be honest, it's a promotion aimed at morons and Sun readers, like the people populating your marketing department.

    HA.

In response to Dub13, don't think i'd ever bet the royal flush when that large bonus is at stake, i'd check/call every bet.

I do honestly (see your point).. I guess in the end of the day regardless of what promotions we run. Some people will like them and some not. Some will agree and disagree with the t's & c's too. Not dismissing your point I do understand it. For instance I personally liked the STT promo (and intend to bring it back) because from my perspective talent is required therefore we are giving a bonus based on the skill of the player. In my little online career I have never landed a royal flush. Three times a straight flush but nary a royal. Luck is what is being rewarded in this promo.
Anyhow we are intending to change the monthly promo regularly. So how about I get some suggestions for new ones and try to turn the post to a more positve one?

    You think?

    Refer a friend for $250!*
Actually 5 friends at $50 a pop. Give us their email addresses so we can spam them.

    Spooky flukey fright fest!

Royal Flush! Feeling flush? Play flush pot frenzy!

I can just imagine the meetings:

Marketing Goon: So what do you think?

Marketing Boss: Well on the one hand nothing sells stuff like alliteration and hyperbole, but...

Marketing Goon: A little too low brow?

Marketing Boss: No, no. I'm just wondering if we can fit some titty in anywhere.

    LOL!
You dont give US their email addresses. YOU email them THEY become ppp players YOU get paid!

And I am guilty of all the others... tacky in the extreme... what ya gonna do
no meeting just another day in my tacky life!

Ah I probably should have looked at that a bit closer. Sorry. :o

I still think it's a touch cynical to advertise it as $250 (not even Up to $250), when it's really $50 x 5. That's just me.

I'm not slagging you off personally. If you're in charge of marketing then I have to say I think most of it is tacky and cringe worthy.

I did like the Jebus thing though. Calculated as it was, I thought it was very funny, the one at my bus stop gave me a smile on the way to work for a couple of days.

Promotions wise: I'd like to see something like an added money freezeout at the end of the month that you couldn't directly buy into but only satellite to. Or a live tournament somewhere in Dublin (or rotated around the cities) with added money and lots of satellites to it online. I dunno I'll think about it some more. :)

Promotions wise:I would like to see a sponsorship deal for Fistful of Shamrock....;) you no it makes sense.

Bring back the free pizza...it was simple and it worked.

No Im not I am operations manager. But this is one of those roles that somehow stretches itself over everything.
    Cringe worthy was the idea!
    Woohoo
    Success ! :)
