Hyosung

    Morning,

Was just wondering if anybody can give me any sort of report on Hyosung? I am currently driving a Gilera moped and its killing me with its unreliability, it starts one morning and it doesnt the next. So I was thinking of upgrading, I have seen a Hyosung Comet GT250 (04) which is very nice and doesnt have a lot of mileage on it. I only have a provisional but I am 25 now so the insurance is somewhat more manageable. So does anybody know much about these bikes? I dont see many of them on the road so that concerns me a little to be honest.

    Any help is appreciated.

No personal experience with them. But John Wheeler of the Irish Times did a review of the Comet a while back.

I was thinking of of changing over to the 650 myself, but was warned away from them because of reliability, but they are very cheap and a half decent looking bike just too many people told me to stay away, strange thing is Ive never met anyone thats owned 1 so dont take my word for it, they could be a great bike

They are the great unknown! I have seen a handful of 125s and 250s in the last couple of years. Bikeworld sell them new for mad money. Not sure whether anyone is interested in them secondhand though - i.e. buy it and you might be stuck with it forever. Parts, Reliability and the fact that most mechanics wouldnt know what a hyosung is are the problem. I would get a Honda Hornet 250, Bros 400 or VTR/Spada 250 before I would get a Hyosung.
