Drip drip drip...leaky ceiling

My ceiling is leaking with the rain

I can see it not being fixed for a long while. Whats the best way to temporarily combat this unfortunate predicament?

I have the drips landing in a bin with a plastic bag in it...but its very noisy and irritating...

Anyone have any bright ideas for an alternative?

if you own the house then do your future finances a big favour and fix it now.

I dont own the house.. (would love to though!), so anything I do will just be temporary

Put a towel over the bin. This will silence the drip. Thread a piece of string or wool through the towel into the bin. The water will run down this into the bin without dripping. Should make things a bit quieter until the leak is repaired.

It's going to rain a lot this week. If you don't get it fixed now, it could be ten times worse come Sunday.
