I've got 300 dollars to spend on one in the usa; the only stipulation is that it has to be bought in a store. Any recommendations?

why must it be in a store?
I'd probably the cowon iaudio XL5, but I would want a go of it first, I hear the controls may be fiddly

thing is you could have it delivered to her hotel. buy out of state to avoid taxes. should be cheaper than buying in nyc store. plus it stops her wasting her time shopping around for it when she could be doing something else. just email the hotel in advance, should be fine.
