    hi,
looking for some advice.........moving to ireland early nov. have been offered jobs in galway, navan and ashbourne finding it hard to make a decision just by researching on the net.

I'm 28,female,traveling alone, don't need a really big city, couldn't cope in a small country town eg would need atleast 10 pubs, would like to meet people of similar age and have plenty to do around me, dont have a car so transport would need to be a my fingertips.

It would be really great to hear what you guys recommend

    Galway.

The centre of the city is nice and small. There are buses to get you around. You are on the coast. Lots of things to do and see. Great pubs and Bookshops.

The other two are becoming dormatory towns for commuters to Dublin. And you'll probably have to go to Dublin on a regular basis for stuff you can't get locally.

    galway,navan and ashbourne

    sorry, no contest
    it must be GALWAY!!

navan and ashbourne are small towns, if you want a good time, great city, fantastic nightlife, live by the sea, best city in all of ireland, then it has to be Galway!!

Well I'm a very proud Meath man and live about 20 minutes from Navan.Have lived here all my life in the royal county. So I'd have to say, live in Galway! Not much happening in any of the other towns and Galway is alot more historic and interesting. You're guarenteed you'll meet alot more interesting people and people on the same level as you.Good luckwith it,hope ya have a good time!

Would have to be Galway out of the three.

Heard bad stories about trouble after pubs/clubs close in Navan though never actually been there and Ashbourne is a bit far for getting home from Dublin at the end of the night.

Best prob to move to Galway and take it from there. Have plenty of weekends in other towns/cities and see if anywhere else takes your fancy. :)

Navan's got at least thirty pubs at my last count, and is quite a big town as well - has pretty much everything.

Very much depends on what area of Galway you're talking about - if its the town then yes, pick Galway!
