It's even better, I seen a gir the other day and her knicker's were sticking over the top of her jeans and not only were they Calvin Klein but tey were fishnet and with who it was very likely a thong or g-string, why would you bother?

People wear designer underwear because they think it gives them a designer body.
In many cases they look like an egg wearing two rubber bands.

If you looked like one of the models in the advertisements, you could probably make granny panties look good.

It just makes me feel good and look good in them IMO , also in fairness a pair of calvins , or boxers from dunnes , you decide i did , its calvin or boss for me.

Designer bras give much better support than non designer ones from Penneys or Dunnes. You need to spend a bit to get a decent quality bra.

I got underwear from Victoria's Secrets and you can definately notice a difference in support. And they don't fall apart after a few washes! Got some nice French Knickers in H&M too. So I don't think you need to spend a fortune on underwear, just enough to get quality. M&S was meant to be the place to get underwear but I wasn't very impressed with it to be honest.

Suppose it's like jeans, ya gotta shop around to find a decent pair!

M&S have a very funny sizing system that appears to be completly different to anywhere else I buy bras, theirs never fit right.

I do love my Victoria Secret's bra and if I could afford to get more of their stuff I would but the import tax makes it quite pricey, so it will have to wait till I next go to the states.

I do find paying out a bit more for a bra is worth it, better support and lasts longer than cheapy bras. Plus they're more likely to have my size than Pennys or Dunnes.

Another thing that i forgot to add , is that calvin / remus vomo / boss give a lot more support then say dunnes or pennys you really do pay for what you get. That is my firm belief .

i think ladies if the choice is given, would rather a man in designer boxers than penny's IMO

I only wear designer be it armani calvin klein hugo boss or whatever, they are much more comfortable, worth the extra money and id just feel like a dirtbag in pennys or dunnes ones... have a bit of self respect and get yourself a decent pair of jocks!

Because they look good and feel good. Obvious really.

brands, whether on jeans or undies or whatever make people feel good, give them confidence and make them feel sexy or what ever.

If people want to spend their money on calvins or ralphs let them.

i know my girlfriend wouldn't let me wear anything else though!

I wear Calvin Klein and Raplh Lauren boxers. I find both to be way more comfortable than cheaper non designer brands. But I do find the Calvin Kleins don't last that well anymore so it's been all RL for the past while.

Penney's and Dunne's bras don't fit me so 9/10 times I'll just fork out and buy designer. There's no point buying cheapo ones if they don't do their job properly.

I buy knickers from Dunnes and Penneys though and generally when i comes to where boys buy their underwear - if my boyfriends in his underwear I've got more important things on my mind than where he bought it from! :p

Call me weird, but I don't need some dude's name on my boxers to feel good about myself

thats a bit much tbh! i couldn't give a damn what my boyfriend wears, its all the same for guys really, and like a previous poster said, when he's down to his boxers i couldn't give a damn what they look like!
in fact i'd be worried if he bothered spending that much money on boxers, who's he looking to show them off to eh? hehe.
i dont buy designer underwear, but i do spend that extra bit to get quality, especially on bra's. i wouldn't buy penny's or dunne's bra's because they tend to not fit very well, but i wouldn't bother wasting hundreds of euro just to have some name on my underwear.

Dont bother with designer underwear at all. Get all mine in Pennys so cheap and do the job grand! Dosent bother me that they might fall apart after a few washes, when they fade i throw them out anyway and i cant go shopping with coming home with gstrings or knickers! Just a habit i have :)

    Underwear is overrated.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,846 ✭✭✭Le Rack

Bra's gotta be of good quality, I have to pay like €50 per bra cuz penny's don't make my size and Dunnes aren't great, they're okay but not for anything extrenuous.

Guys, can I jsut ask, do jocks actually offer "support" cuz they really are only a pair of shorts ya know...?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,277 ✭✭✭✭Rb

Depends what type you get, if you get the fitted ones then yeah they kind of hold everything in place.

Depends on the underwear. I generally wear jocks without "support". The snug ones get sweaty(yes I know, ewww).

Goddam creationists! Underwear evolves - there is no designer!

But seriously, I find that designer underwear is not all that much more expensive and tends to last better and is more hardy up against the perils of washing machine cannon! Plus, it tends to look better imo.

Well, it can be alot more expensive. For example, I got a pair of boxers in brown thomas for €55 before (they were a gift from someone :D ), then there's some for €30 onwards which I've went for a few times.
You're right about them tending to look better though, and about them tending to last longer in the machine. I've found with cheaper boxers that the elastic around the waistline part of it can get warped in the machine, leaving them real loose(too loose to wear) but it's never happened a pair of "designer" boxers.

being a small chested fat arse, underwear isn't that important to me, any oul bra will do me and as for knickers, well sure my penny's and dunnes stuff doesn't last after a few washes but I wouldn't really want to keep wearing them over and over no matter how clean they were.
Clothes, particularly underwear, begins to feel worn or unclean to me pretty quick so I'd never bother shelling out a fortune for it.

My boyfriend doesn't give a rats ass so there's no real point doin it for him either.

That said I do enjoy the playboy stuff :o
